Ibex (wool) bibs - anyone try them?

I'd love to hear your experiences, or experiences with wool bibs in general. I would think that they would be too warm for temperatures past 80 degrees or so, but then again most synthetic bibs make you sweat a good deal as well. Are these designed with an appropriate weight for summer use (not Nevada summer, but say downstate New York summer)? I figure that I can always save my trusty synthetic bibs for super hot if these could pull some cooler summer day duty.

By the way, Ibex has a killer sale going on right now - check the outlet on their website. I bought more than I care to admit.

I'll pass. I wore wool shorts back in the day. Sure, this is high quality Merino and it's a blend... but wool sags. And then when you wash it, it shrinks. Lycra works better for shorts, that's why lycra displaced wool in the first place.

I love my wool jerseys, and in winter I wear wool base layer, wool jersey, hat, socks, even tights. But not bibs.

Ibex makes awesome jerseys though :( Plus aebike has these bibs for $90 so if the bibs matched their jersey quality that'd be a great deal. Maybe they're cheap for a reason though.

I don't know about the bibs...but their leg warmers are great. 25 degrees out when I left the house this morning and my legs never felt cold.

Typical, mostly useless replies save one from someone who's actually used them... ;)

The chamois in the ibex bib shorts is not as good as the one in the knickers. I've used the knickers and they work great, but wound up returning them as I don't like bottoms without the bib part.

If they improve the chamois in the bib shorts or make a bib version of the knicker I will probably buy one or the other.
