Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

DT Swiss from Bicycle Wheel Wherehouse

i'm thinking of picking up a set of DT Swiss RR 1.1 with 240 hubs from BWW. Seems like a great deal at $569 for the set. Has anyone else dealt with these guys??? Ashe.

Don't know if you're a DIY'er, but overhauling the 240s hubs is kinda tough. Regular maintenance is tool-free, but if you're overhauling the hub and replacing the bearings you need special tools from DT Swiss.

That may be moot, since I've never heard of anyone ever replacing a cartridge bearing. They stay pretty clean and well-greased for a long time. But I am sure someone has had to do it.

PS: I do prefer regular Shimano bearings, though, with an easy annual cleaning and repacking.
