buying 1st road bike - help
I just joined the forum and am hoping to get some awesome help from all of you!
I trained and rode my 12 yr old Specialized mountain bike (with smaller tires) in a 3day century ride and it was hard. I'm now shopping for an entry level road bike (so I don't go broke) and have looked at Felt, Trek, Giant, Specialized and test rode a GT.
Today I found a 2008 K2 T9 Alliance that I can get it for a good deal. It is the right size for me and I'm going to test ride it tomorrow. It sounds like it has good components, from what I've been learning, but I couldn't find any reviews on the K2 bikes and I hadn't heard of them before. I'd appreciate any info you can offer and thanks! Cyndi

I'm moving this to the Road forum, where it should get some helpful responses.

K2 bikes are fine. Another company that sources frames in Asia and puts some Shimano components on them. They are no better or worse than bikes from companies like Fuji.

From reading the component list it seems like a good bike for entry level, maybe even 2nd bike depending on the rider (and first bike).
The 105 will last you, and it has Ultegra levers. I see this is half a month old, so I'm assuming you've already tested the bike out.
Have you tested any of the other brands you've been looking at?
