Maybe. But I still far prefer winter, to typical summer weather around here with daytime highs above 90 deg. and muggy. Cold doesn't bother me nearly as much as heat and humidity do.
Other folks may feel differently. And that's okay.

2008 was .7C colder than the past 15 years. we might be in an overall warming curve but lately it has been reversing and getting colder. arctic ice is regrowing at the fastest rate ever.
I am wagering we are on the cusp of a 10 year rapid thrust to a new ice age.... any takers ?

That notwithstanding, there's not enough HTFU to go around this winter. It sucks. For me, it's not so much the temperature (though when it gets to 20 or below, I don't have the gear to ride safely) as the regular snow. I don't enough days with dry roads. Unfortunately, I don't have a bike suitable for training that can take fenders. I will not get my ass soaked when it's 23 degrees F out there. I will be delighted come March and 40 degree temperatures.

Aside from 10 days of snow in late December the Seattle winter has been outstanding this year - hardly any rain though it's been crisp to say the least.
I'm sure I'll be eating my words come spring though when it's 40 degrees and pouring rain for 3 months straight.

I get up today, it's warmer, 28ºF atop Mt. Doom, forecast high of 40º or so, I go out without a shell, no toe warmers. Big friggin mistake. 20 mins. into the ride I'm down in the Pine Island flat farmland, and my bike computer says it's 21ºF. Then 20ºF. Then 19ºF. Then 18ºF. F me. I'm freezing.
Once pneumonia gets to the delusional stage, it's quite fun. Send us a postcard.
Hey, but good on ya for not letting it stop you.
Keep on keepin' on. That's "old folks' talk"

it's 76 right now in beeoootiful Dallas/Ft. Worthless area.
this morning was rough, it was about 52 when I got up.
Of course the bottom is gonna drop out and tomorrow morning will be
high of 43 with 30mph wind gusts.
Botto, it's really cold when the Ziederzee freezes. Heard Amsterdam sold out of skates
a few weeks ago.

Has coddling tendencies.
We're in a crappy wet pattern here in So Cal, so there's nothing to brag about. Although it is supposed to break for the weekend, then return on Monday. That means two days of yee haw!

Live in NJ and was nice to get out of the dungeon considering today was in the low 40's. Anywhere in the 20's I rather peddle on the trainer, and been having a lot of those days getting some reading in.

Your winter is great here in Australia. A couple of days in plus 40s (deg C) where I am; mid-30s on another couple; high 20 for the rest.
I see Pony Boy escaped the snow for the sand -- and got himself banned for a week to boot. Happy coincidence...
