Saturday ride?
I wanted to post about my ride today but I didn't see the thread so here goes..
My dog passed away last night, we expected it but it still hurt, I was planning on going to the gym but I didn't feel like being around people much so I just hopped on my bike.
Did 53 miles, I know that's not a lot for you guys but it's the most I've done so far, 18.5 mph, 2:45 ride time, nice amount of climbing and the wind wasn't too bad, weather was straight up beautiful
Anyway I feel a lot better now, either I found my cycling nirvana or I'm too tired to be sad, either way it feels good

Did 48 miles with 4900ft of climbing in the Santa Cruz mountians. We intended to do 65 and 7000 but it was wet and slipery. We also got detoured off of hwy 9 due to some downed tree's. We wont talk about speed, 20% grades slow me down alot.

Heh, nice ride Tariq. 18.5mph isn't anything to scoff at! Sorry about your dog. My family had to put one down, and it wasn't an easy thing to do.
I did 39 miles in 2:23 for a 16.3 mph average. Rolling hills, and a killer headwind on the way back. My legs will be sore tomorrow after two hard rides back to back.
Easy recovery ride tomorrow. I would go out and ride another 40, but it's supposed to be really cold. Bleh...

Has coddling tendencies.
I lost a sweet old dog last summer. Hurt more than I thought it would. Details are heart rending, so I'll skip those.
Those miles you did today at those speeds are nothing to sniff at.
Me? I got a late start due to crap weather and ended up doing a stock 17 mile training ride with climbing through some beautiful canyon roads. 4th straight ride beating the previous best time on this loop.

Sorry about your dog. It really hurt. I had two and it hurt both times. At least your got nice enough weather to ride.
I did a hour on the trainer only... i am so sick and tired of this damn winter, it never ends.
Saw a couple of dudes out riding in the snow flurry, brave souls.

90.77 miles in Yorktown, VA, much of it on the Colonial Parkway. Somebody needs to chipseal that road in order to improve the surface...
Was planning to do a century but I was too beat up to continue.

81.3 miles and 5500ft, not really a 'climbing' ride, but some climbing, and some strong wind up higher.
Sorry about your dog.

No riding for me today - lots of chores to get through, I just got suited up in the afternoon for a quick ride and my 6 yr old comes up to me wanting to play - how could I refuse? Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Sorry about your dog, Tariq.

26.5 miles in a 15+ mph wind and an ambient temp of 38*F. Not much climbing for this area. No matter which way I turned, it seemed I was heading into the wind. It was good to get off the trainer and out onto the roads.

My pets are spoiled rotten. I can't imagine a better life for a pet than to have ben a pet of mine. I'm sure your dog was in the same situation. I've lost 5 pets in my lifetime.
Seems like there should be a place in Heaven for pet owners.
13.5 miles, 900 feet of climbing, 15+ MPH wind, 41 degrees. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
