Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I don't go to Target either. Nothing against Target but there are other stores that are more convenient.

naw really

but those were the normal waist size that i wore. a few years ago i would have just bought them because they were the size shorts i wear. i have always been like my friends, buy your size and get the heck out of there. i dont enjoy shopping for clothing, unless its at the bike store.

My quads are so big from cycling all these years that I can't fit any pants, shorts, etc. of normal size over my legs at all.

I have to wear a loincloth.

I don't at this point because I'm old and fat, but when I first started college I had a 29 inch waist and routinely had to buy 34 inch waist pants in order to fit my massive thighs. My waist caught up with my thighs once I hit 40.

Not yet. In fact, due to cycling I've had to go DOWN in waist size. 36" down to 34" now because I've lost about 20lbs.

I've had some shorts where the appropriate waist size was too tight in the legs, but for the most part it's not an issue since I like my shorts baggy in general.

Not as bad as it used to be. In college, my thighs were 36" in circumference and my waist was 34". I had to buy size 38" or 40" (waist) jeans, then have massive amounts of the waist cut out. My rear pockets overlapped.

Now, as a geezer, I'm back to a 34" waist and, this year, I suspect I'll need to buy 36" waist pants for the thigh space and have the waist taken in. Not extreme, but a hassle.

I just atarted to wear Kuhl pants for casual wear because they fits my thighs/hips comfortably while being the right size at the waist. They have an athletic cut.

+1 for Kuhl clothing. Great quality, great company.

There's no way I can buy any type of thin-cut pants. They end up hurting my legs when I sit down because of how tight they get around my quads. Baggy stuff for me!

Yes, but I often had this problem with trousers even before I started cycling. I've always had big thighs, which has probably helped me in cycling.
