Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I like the Planet Bike Protoge 8.0 The 5.0 is fine if you want one cheaper. Turns itself on. Has all the info right on the screen.

although this doesn't have cadence - i got the cat eye enduro 8. only $29, and has all basic features. i fully expected to pay a lot more for a computer and was surprised this was less than 30. so far so good, no problems with it.

If the computer has a stopwatch you can just count your cadence and save yourself installing another piece of hardware on your bike. Unless you are really trying to focus on your cadence I see no real reason for it.
