Can I replace the clamp on my Campy f/d with a smaller one?

Yes. There is a single allen bolt (3mm IIRC) that holds the derailleur body to the clamp / braze on unit and they are exchangeable between most component groups.

Thanks but I decided it's easier and cheaper to just buy the right size f/d off ebay.
