I've been waiting for the neutral edition to hit the shelves myself. Going to check my LBS first, but it's good to know REI has it.
If you want absolutely the cheapest deal, though, PBK has it for $284.59 (the whole Unit + HRM + GSC10). Last week Performance had their anniversary sale, and you could get the kit for $280, but its the standard color. |

I'm old, all my gear is old, I need to buy a lot of new stuff!
I thought about buying a new bike but decided I would keep my bike. Everything is good except the wheelset so I decided to just get new wheels. The most recent thing I've bought is a set of DuraAce 8-speed hubs and an 8 speed cassette (8 speed to work with my levers). I'll need to buy some rims and spokes, and new tires and tubes too. The only other thing that the bike needs is new bar tape and I've already got that waiting. As for me, I need a new helmet, new shoes, new gloves, and I could use a few more pair of new shorts. |

Red Hudz.... Hope that I'm going to like the new color scheme. Got the red saddle already...

Performance has a 20% sale and now carries Assos...so I bought another pair of FI Unos. All said, about the same price as the previous pair I bought from a UK dealer, and will arrive at my door in 2 days, not 20.

New bibs- one size smaller than usual, woohoo! Hopefully I can maintain the trend....

Forte Pro Road Stem. and http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...WL._SS500_.jpg Planet Bike 1007-3 Floor Pump. Decided it was finally time to stop using my frame pump for everything. |
Bought this because after finishing our new basement workout room with TV and surround sound the wind trainer and headphones simply would not do.

Copied from my post in the Electronics subforum... I'm so excited :)
Just got my Garmin Edge 500 Neutral Edition! Have been waiting a while for this to become available, and since I recently got a job, now I can afford to get one! Only difference between this and the normal version is that it has black accents whereas the normal version has blue parts. Better matches my Tarmac. Am itching to use it, but it's raining outside, and the HRM/Speed/Cadence sensors don't get here til Friday :( http://lh5.ggpht.com/_eV6UqpCgFjg/S_...2/IMG_3823.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_eV6UqpCgFjg/S_...4/IMG_3827.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/_eV6UqpCgFjg/S_...4/IMG_3841.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_eV6UqpCgFjg/S_...4/IMG_3842.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_eV6UqpCgFjg/S_...4/IMG_3853.JPG |
How much did you pay and where'd you get it? (I'm in the market...)
|
If you're referring to me, the unit by itself (without HRM/speed+cadence sensors) was $249.99 @ REI. They've had it online for a few weeks now, but only in stock for the past two weeks. It is cheaper to buy the kit (with HRM/GSC10) online @ PBK for I believe around $280, but I bought the unit from REI and am buying the sensors from Amazon because 1. REI has got great customer service, and they're local... and 2. Amazon has the sensors for 1/2 the MSRP (~30ish bucks each)

No problem! I've thought about getting the Edge 500 actually as a first step towards getting into racing as well (no $$ for a powertap... YET!)... gradually working to it
