Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So I can speak for the whites.

The shoes themselves, despite the shine factor and the fact I only have 70 miles on them, seem awesome in every respect.
Light and stiff, and the chicks on the friday night ride really dug em.
sold. thanks. later.

Your LBS wouldn't give them to you for free?
When I was thinking about getting shims, went to the LBS and they pulled out a box of a couple hundred, told me to take my pick.

I've been given several pairs of shims that won't fit any of my levers...

Bought these a couple days ago -- leather-covered MKS half-toeclips:
https://www.velo-orange.com/mkslemicl.html

I already don't know if I'll keep them. They don't hold enough of my foot to be as useful as full clips & straps, but I prefer clipless anyway... BUT I don't really want clipless on this particular bike. The classic MKS Touring pedals look great on it and work perfectly for where I ride it.

Spinergy Stealth FCC wheelset for racing.
KCNC Skewers 44g! saved 151g over heavy normal skewers I had before.
Some Ti hardware, and yokes for my seat adjuster saved 21g!
Oh yeah, another application of Fizik Microtex bartape was done this past weekend too.

I'm almost done shaving weight. It was at 15.26lbs. before the skewers, and seat adjuster tuning, and that was with the Spinergy skewers that came with the wheels, that were 90g a pair. Next on my list is lighter brakes, and a new better trainer for the winter, and some PEDs. If my cranks gives me anymore guff, it is getting scrapped, for a Rotor unit, or possibly SRAM Red.

Received as a present today: DT Swiss R450 rim built on Velocity rear hub with Comp spokes and Alloy nipples (no longer running a Shimergo group, even though it functioned pretty well, it wasn't pretty, and the 2 extra gears will be welcomed)
Wheel will be accompanied by:

Veloce Cassette
KMC DX10SC Chain
Veloplugs
