Some Keo Blades or 3T Rotundo Pro bars, perhaps? It's all going on my NOS '09 caad9 here in the next few weeks. Seriously can't wait to get this thing built up so I can take it for a spin.

Dropped the Schwinn Crosscut off at the powder coating shop yesterday, should be ready for pick up by the end of the week, decals that I had custom done by VeloCals.com should be arriving about the same time. Guess that means I should get around to ordering a new headset and cables for the rebuild.

New primary wheels for the touring bike should be at my door within 18 hours. I'll have a picture up within 24.

They arrived today.. already. Exactly as Williams Cycling said they would. The wheels came true and perfect out of the box as usual with Williams. Here they are mounted to my Touring bike.

Ugh. Weight weenie Zipp skewers for my Zipp wheels. I can't believe I succumbed.

X-LinkedRider 01-10-12 04:01 PM

Bet your skewers cost more than those wheels I just bought. Lol.

Thanks, I was coveting this bike forever and finally went for it during the holidays. I see from your signature that you have good taste in bikes too. :thumb:

By the way, I was just visiting SF for the holidays (I live in DC) and man, I am so jealous of your cycling opportunities out there. I went to the headlands around the Golden Gate Bridge and saw cyclists doing those incredible hills. Seemed kinda scary for someone not used to such big hills but also a lot of fun. Plus, you guys generally have warmer weather so year-round cycling is possible.

Oh yeah, that pic of the guy on the black S2 wearing baggy shorts is kind of contradictory. He even has aero wheels! But his attire says "commuter bike."

This past weekend was some of the best cycling weather ever. 60-65*F, light to no winds, clear skies. My whole ride (through the Headlands north of GGB) I was pinching myself saying "this is NOT winter". We're pretty spoiled out here, I have to admit. Al Gore is right -- global warming! ;)

You got Williams wheels for $106? I want in on that one.

Yeah. Blowout clearance sale of there old inventory. Essentially the F1's and M1's were replaced with the System 30 and 30x which are still awesome ass wheels for 500 dollars. They come with very nice upgrades, but I did not need any of that for the touring bike as it is very consistent type of riding and not ultra fast. But they are one hell of an upgrade for that price. lol. Even for the 175 you can get them off their website the are worth it.
If I buy a real set of wheels from anybody other than a sponsoring company it will be these System 38s. http://www.williamscycling.com/sys38_clincher.html

Got the same bike, just transplanted my Ultegra, Cosmic Carbone wheels and switched the bars to 3T Ergonova and matching stem. Just ordered a Garmin 500.

Picked up my Schwinn Crosscut from powder coat this afternoon, ordered a new headset for it this morning, tomorrow ordering bearings, cables and casings, the last parts left to put it back together and converting it to dropbars and bar-end shifters.

Very pretty bike. Too bad it wasn't a road frame. I'd love to see it with road calipers and all vintage Campagnolo parts in silver.

After this mornings ride I will be purchasing a chain catcher

You ride SRAM? This is why I am questioning my decision to Go Force this year up from my 105.
