Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just the frame set, just got into the shop today and that was the pic that was sent to me. Should end up in the very low 14s

do you think that there exists a certain rather low dollar amount which represents the most an amateur should spend for the sum of all the bits for a new ride? the idea being that everything pushing the cost over that sum is either cool guy exclusivity tax markup or wont provide worthwhile benefit to a noncompetitor and would be given for free or at a greatly reduced cost to a rider that has podiumed his way to that sponsorship. im sure its not static, and im sure there are many differing opinions on what would be included, but apex, nice 28mm tires, hand built box profile wheels, a stock, generic, but well designed taiwanese metal frame, and zero carbon bits come to mind. i put it at around 2,000, which automatically cuts out 80mm reynolds rims and sounds offensive to both rich hobbyists as well as any genpop layperson.

November RFSC38's and a DA cassette. Next will be my garmin mount from Above category and a 6* stem to replace the 17*. So if anyone has a Ritchey WCS 4-axis 31.8 100mm stem in wet white, let me know.

It's a Lezyne floor pump. I had a (not so) old Blackburn that would never sit right on presta, nor go past 100 psi without a fuss. I spent more for this in the hopes that it would go over 100 psi easily (check), play nice with presta (check) and be durable enough to last for 10 years or more (tbd).

Nope. Most clothes containing a latex or spandex is finished off with some preservative that helps the clothes stay new and fresh during the packaging and inventory process. These are chemicals you don't really want on your junk however.

Nothing in small quantities really. But it is not FDA approved for being "Skin" safe application and therefore definitely be washed off. Not like you will burn or anything, but it is more of a chemical starch which is why it takes a wash or two to get rid of it all. It's really the layer sitting ON TOP which you are exposed to but being the sensitivity of the area and the function that it provides means the conditions will be at their worst for getting a skin rash or something sometimes. Sweating equal open and available pours and anything unnatural is probably not going to benefit you long term. Honestly though, I'm sure it's no worse than drinking Large name soda of any kind.
