i'd like to know too. I love the looks but am balking at the 100 dollars that I would have to spend for 2.

It's already dark within an hour of getting home from work. Enter MagicShine 808E. Seems bright as the sun, should be great for these "night rides". Wool jersey from Portland Cycleworks within the next month.

And for the commute to work during cool to soon to be cold mornings: https://www.randijofab.com/wp-conten...up-128x128.jpg

I found one on Ebay for $39 shipped. Very well made. Looks great on the bike and holds my Garmin 500 rock solid.

Because they can! Garmin has a lock on spare parts for their stuff, and since they overcharge for their computers and know people will buy them anyway then they know they can charge $50 for a $2 mount. I got a second mount for my Sigma and it cost me $10 including a sensor with the wire, wheel magnet, and straps.

It's K-Edge, not Garmin.

Even more so.

What does that mean? Your point was that Garmin can charge whatever they want for their peripherals because they're Garmin. Now you extend that to include K-Edge? Why doesn't K-Edge make a Sigma mount then and charge $50? Using your logic, it will sell equally as well.

fwiw, I plan to buy a K-Edge mount because it extends the head unit out beyond the reach of the cover I use on my bike on the trainer.

I'm converting my avant-garde Volagi to a Fredly climbing machine with the advanced technology shown, below:
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=277718

Ultegra triple FD and 12-27 cassette will complete the conversion. I now have a spare FSA SL-K compact. and Ultegra double FD. The green "K" is a bit of a problem, but I'll live with it.

Maybe not road bike in the "mass start legal" definition of a road bike, but I just picked up one of these:

I love mine to death.

and I did hear that it's a PITA to install. I didn't wrench my bike, but the feedback from 2 mechs made me think it's a PITA really.

A pair of Profile Grips and Cane Creek bar ends for my mountain bike. I wish I knew more about MTB parts, really.

AlphaDogg 10-13-12 04:49 PM

I've wanted one of these for a long time. I asked the bike co-op where I volunteer to order one. It came in Thursday, but it wasn't until today that I was able to pick it up.

Picked up a Specialized Romin Pro for $60 at the Toronto bike show this morning.

zacster 10-13-12 09:10 PM

I bought a Trek 7000 MTB, a pair of Michelin Road Run'r tires for it, and a Pearl Izumi Select Barrier cycling jacket. All were ordered online so I don't have any of them yet. I could have used the jacket today, I was cold riding with just a short sleeve jersey with a Capilene undershirt. Definitely not enough.

I set mine up fairly quickly, but I have been working at my local shop P/T as a mechanic for a few months so I've gotten accustomed to adjusting all kinds of stupid brakes. It went fairly smoothly, but I haven't gone for more than a basic test ride and I'm not counting on being done adjusting them yet.
