Ticket to Denver Veloswap-$8
At Veloswap, I bought the following: Pearl Izumi Pro Cycling Challenge long sleeve jersey/jacket (not my pic, stole it from ebay) (MSRP $90, I paid $40) http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Pearl-Izumi-m...Dk6!~~60_3.JPG Blackburn Zayante Micro saddle bag (MSRP $15.99, I paid $5) http://www.blackburndesign.com/media...osaddlebag.jpg And some armwarmers $20 http://www.spasport.com/Fleece_Arm_Warmers.jpg |
My rear Mavic Ksyrium wheel was busted beyond repair. I was going to spend money that I don't have on a new set of neuvations, but managed to find someone selling a rear ksyrium to match my front. It's an ES. It looks like it's got low miles, and it came with an ultegra cassette thats better than the one I had, and was only $150. Kinda blingy but I don't mind.

I just bought 2 long sleeve Pearl Izumi thermal jerseys from JensonUSA for $33 each. They seemed like a bargain.
In my 40+ years of serious cycling I've never owned a long sleeve jersey, nor a real cycling jacket. I've always made do with what I have, such as the Capilene base layers and a light Windstopper jacket cut for hiking that I use now. It works fine, but the jacket is way too floppy. |
Just got my Wound-up fork back with a new clear coat. Cost me about $100. Does that count as a purchase?
(Note - the clear coat protects the CF from UV which is by I had it renewed after it bubbled. Was out of warranty. |

Picked up a used garmin 305 off e-bay with Cadence/speed sensors and I also bought a HRM to go with it. So for about 150 I'll get everything I need. (Equivilent to the 500 bundle at over 300+ dollars)
Also grabbed an axiom ultra spark headlight. Between that and the spark3 that i have, I can see the road pretty damn well at night.

Well kinda. I finally broke down, and paid Garmin to repair mine. I just got the email today that a replacement is on it's way here. Now I need to buy one of those K-Edge mounts. My screen cracked while just riding along on the last one. The only thing that makes sense is it was crushed by my sternum, while resting my shoulders on the handlebars while descending. Anyway, I can't wait to stop using my iPhone as my computer, and go back to the Garmin. |
Does the light only stay on for a few seconds by pressing the Light button, or will it stay on?

I sold a DH bike for my friend and he bought me praxis chainrings that i wanted.
BUT...... I just stripped the CRAP out of 2 of the chainring bolts and they are stuck in there pretty good. I'm trying to get these 2 buggers out right now. |

My 305 came today along with the heart rate strap and cadence/speed units. I didn't bother with the cadence sensor as it was getting dark, but the first ride was great. I Love the backlight on the unit... It actually makes me want to ride at night. I enjoyed the dark this evening. I have heard the 500's are a little more delicate than the 305's.. Is the K edge a worthy investment or is it just for the 500 and 800?

6 pairs of Pearl Izumi socks (the new puppy forced this one) and 2 more Podium bottles. I also bought the Feedzone Cookbook. So far everything looks easy enough to make and sounds darn tasty!

What is the thing attached to your seat post? (dur, not the seat)... the other thing.

Always wanted a windproof jacket small enough to stow in a jersey pocket. Finally found one that had good reviews and was reasonably priced too. Red for me and white for wifey.

Nice jacket. I could use something like that.
CC's description of that tri clamp thingy makes it sound like it's the simplest of things (block of nylon, few screws, couple clamps) yet it's $55. Their description totally doesn't justify that price IMHO. |
SRAM Red gruppo. Just left the bike shop. Should have it in about a week or so. Mucho dinero. ;-)
|
Bontrager Gel gloves. They are the best. Also got the Garmin mount pictured above, a must have if you have a Garmin. The 800 I put on it, IMO a must-have for touring, just fun for local rides.

Compare it to an X-Labs device and anything else that's available & comparable and will fit an aero seat post. |
