Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

More totally unncessary stealth bling for the Parlee - TRP R979 EQ brakes...

....I've already calculated these will increase my average speed by at least 4 mph both uphill and downhill

My Specialized Roubaix Expert SL4 came in today! I stripped off all the Shimano Ultegra parts because I'm putting SRAM Force on there with Red shifters and FD when they come in (hopefully next week!). My first carbon road bike

Those are Bontrager Race Lite cages on there. I also got a set of Zipp stainless steel skewers in Beyond Black for my DT Swiss/H+Son wheelset I built up.

Isn't putting Bontrager parts on a Specialized a major faux pas?

Kuat Alpha 3. Used, in excellent shape at the LBS. Owner thought he'd put $150 on the tag, I went and checked and it said $100. He said "oops". Nice rack and light, well built, stainless fittings.

I like bikes that don't have red on them. Well done.

Thanks! Part of why I didn't go with the classic black/white/red version -- didn't want to be like everyone else and already have a red/white bike anyway Also partially why I didn't go with a Domane 5.2, it only came in what I think is a not-very-flattering red/white!

All done, except all I had was the green color hollowgram crankbolts, and I can ride it but can't allow pics to be seen on the interweb like that. So I ordered some black ones...that'll teach me to buy used off fleabay...but overall weight with TRP brakes, Hollowgram SL crank, and KMC chain has dropped from 6.52 down to 6.41 kg (14 pounds 2 ounces)...
