FYI, it's WARD industries that make the spindles. Speedplay replacement products aren't advertised on their site, just inquire via email or their phone number.

Yes, yes they are :D

Those Oakleys are more hideous than the ones posted with the camera. I LOVE Oakley's older designs but recent designs just look weird to me.

Mark, you have quite the collection of new bikes there. Do you have some pictures or did you post in the Hot or Not thread or What road bike do you have thread? I am sure you have posted that Parlee once or twice, but what about that helix?

I got my my Lynskey Helix OS in December 2011 and posted it in the Hot or Not thread about a year ago. I got my Lynskey R330 in October 2012 as a limited run special and I think I posted it in Feb 2013.

I also just posted both of them in the Paint on a Ti Bike:
http://forums.roadbikereview.com/bik...st4347826.html

I actually have not posted the Parlee because it is still missing the final pedals.

Mark

PS. My latest purchase is that I just paid for a two year Elite Membership with Bike Forums!

Why did they rename the Jawbone to a Racing Jacket? I actually like this style. I had one (jawbone) but got destroyed on my bike accident.

bmcphx 05-16-13 07:40 PM

conflict with another company who already had the name.

I googled after your reply. So they got sued by a bluetooth company. Good to know - thanks.

SpeshulEd 05-16-13 08:30 PM

It makes sense...for the longest time, I thought the jawbone glasses had a built in bluetooth. Granted, I never really paid attention to Oakley's until I started cycling.

no love for the oakley's!? is it the color combo, or the glasses in general?

after a few days of use, they are definitely all hype. nothing special at all.

oh well, live and learn!

echotraveler 05-20-13 06:12 AM

Jawbones Are pretty durable, a bit big for my face. Im planing on eventually changin to the smaller version o the jawbone, not sure o the name...split jacket?

I
hated - HATED my jawbones. They fit me terribly, I find them ugly, and they feel chinsy. I've got a rotation of radars and I love them.

PatrickGSR94 05-20-13 08:58 AM

I've used Oakley sunglasses since about 1996 or so when I got my first pair of Eye Jackets - after picking up some fake POS ones in Daytona Beach FL that summer. In those 17 years I've had 2 pairs of Eye Jackets and one pair of A-wires. I still use the A-wires every day, and the Eye Jackets still get use for yard work and such.

Problem I found with the A-wires for cycling is that they just don't provide enough coverage to keep debris out. Had a tough time with lots of debris getting in my eyes during a commute home last week. So I'm going to have to fine something else with more coverage.

Because of Oakleys I pretty much can't stand eyewear that curves down behind the ears. I need the side pieces to be straight or nearly so for it to be comfortable for me.

My brother has dusted off his 1992 Cannondale R600 and started going on group rides. He told me he wants "break shifters" like the others in the group. So I bought him these Shimano A070 7 speed brifters to somewhat modernize his 7speed 105 drivetrain.

Just placed the order for a new cockpit for my tt bike. Zipp Vuka bars, Vuka Race Shift extensions, Vuka Aluminum Clips, Return to Center shifters, and SRAM 990 aero brake levers.
