Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The first SR11-EPS group I bought about 5 months ago for the Ridley was from https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk and paid $2084, shipped to NYC. With the exception of the EPS disconnect tool, crank and brakeset, that purchase had everything I needed for the EPS install.

The SR11-EPS upgrade kit I recently installed on the De Rosa was a listing I saw on ebay. The seller agreed to sell the kit for $200 less than what he/she had listed. Compared to what I paid for the first kit, I saved hundreds on the this purchase.

I just bought it today.

If you want to get techincal, I bought the bike, loaded it in my car, then realized I needed more chain lube, so technically a bottle of chain lube is my most recent purchase, but posting a picture of that wouldn't be as much fun. (1st road bike, so this forum will be seeing more of me)

No kids, disposable income.

I crashed my bike and cracked the seat stay...that means a new bike is right around the corner too. I'm keeping the economy alive!

Just to clarify, I was joking around with ya. Didn't want you to think I was trying to be some jerk.

When does the bike come?

Haha, no offense taken whatsoever. I hear it from all my friends and coworkers too..."you spent how much on your bike?" It blows their mind when I tell them my bike was relatively cheap compared to others.

Not sure on the bike yet, waiting to hear more at the moment. Since the bike isn't even 6 months old, we're trying to see if anything is covered under warranty or if they'll work out a deal on a new bike. Which, to be honest, will probably be the only way I stick with that brand. I'm also hoping Di2 is in my future. If I'm going to upgrade, might as well go all the way.

Most people think that spending more than $200 on a bike is ludicrous... but most people are used to BB store bikes.
