Hate to say it but I just replaced that saddle with a Fizik Arione. I can't stand the shape and the feel of it beneath me. Just hurts my sit bones too much :|

My eyes are -2.50 D with astigmatism in one of them. The Rx'd version is $199.95, and with the polycarbonate lens is like $225 or something. Shipped to the distant lands of Canada adds on $30 or something.

IIRC these have a range of +/- 3 sphere/cyl. There's a page that lists the limits of the Oakleys they carry:
http://www.bicyclerx.com/brands.php?brandcode=Oakley

I think the FAQ says something of adapting lenses outside of their specified range on a case-by-case basis. I'm pretty excited about these, but they're supposed to arrive by the end of the month or something, boo!

BarracksSi 09-05-09 11:58 PM

Hmmm.. Ok. Oakleys are out of my range, then (-6 sphere, -1.75 cyl). There's the Rudy Project Exowind, but I might need a bigger size, and I still don't want to do inserts. There's their Horus, though..

Wow, that's gnarly! You could give BicycleRx a call, but I don't know if the price for your prescription will be rediculously higher.

"My prescription is outside the listed available range. ?
A: Yes! Special orders, like very high prescriptions are handled on a case-by-case basis. For a price quote for your Rx, or for an item not listed on the website, please call us at 1-888-831-5817."

Nice people. Geographically challenged, but nice people :).

The Exowind is a very nice pair! I'm thinking of getting a clear pair to use in the lab as safety glasses, and for night riding. The Horus is nice too, do you know their prescription ranges?

BarracksSi 09-06-09 06:38 AM

^^^ Yeah, I'm looking at the prescription ranges of each brand. It's really helpful that they actually list them on the site -- I see a handful of options that'd work for me.

You may be pleasantly surprised.

I went a little nuts this month on Ebay: Used Garmin 305, Minoura True Pro wheel truing stand, Osprey Talon 22 backpack (for "bikepacking"), and today another used Assos jersey (at less than 1/3 of retail price).

Yeah, I'm finding it's not the best as well, although for 30mi rides it's tolerable. I've tried just about everything out there over the years and nothing seems to work for me. Bah! I'll be going back to my regal while the search continues.
