Hate the bars that came on my new bike so I took that opportunity to upgrade. Short and shallow, ergo drops, and aero flat tops.

Between your house and the school - looks like little community garden plots or something.

Backcountry, a.k.a. Chainlove, a.k.a. Competitive Cyclist is clearing out some stuff.
Ultegra 6700 compact crank, $148.50 Hincapie Emergence Bibs, $66 http://www.backcountry.com/images/it...I0261/S175.jpg http://www.backcountry.com/images/it...0210/COLBK.jpg Seemed like good deals to me. Nashbar has Shimano BB-6700 for $20 So much to buy, so little money. Still considering a L&M Seca 750 and/or a Garmin Edge. |

My last bike was an AR series Felt bike. It had an allow bar with ergo drops and aero flat tops, it was ridiculously comfy so i wanted to find one in carbon but couldn't so this zipp one was the closest i could find. I've never had a short and shallow bar but I think I need one.I'll get it put on tomorrow and ride it, I'll report back if you'd like me too? I got it on a pretty good sale from this place: http://www.upgradecycle.com/zipp-con...l#.UhRg-5LVCJp
Yes please let me know what are the advantages of the aero cf ergo bars over the std alum round bars :) |
Lazer Genesis helmet. I like it.

Garmin Edge 200
Specialized Gloves (sick of the tan oval my giro gloves were giving me and they were starting to wear some) Pair of cycling shorts for the wife (trying to keep her from being upset about how much I spent on the Garmin *didn't work*) |
I picked up spesh BG gloves, & Prospero II a few weeks ago.
Totally love the gloves too, the placement of the pads are perfect for me, & the fact there's no Velcro is a nice feature too. I had to sell my Giro Pro light sine it was too big. Picked up the Prospero II to replace it, love the vents, & the fit. Both items fit in my collection of bike gear nicely. |
Giro Atmos helmet. New, $120 shipped through ebay.

Just picked up a Bell Volt helmet. It's $175 retail but I got it from my LBS for $100. I've seen it for a little less online (nashbar I think) but they didn't have the color I wanted which is matte titanium (shown here). I switched from a Giro I've worn for years and liked but had to be replaced. This one had the best fit/look for the price and it's one of the rare road helmets that come with a visor, which I had on my Giro and liked.
It's a really good looking helmet, actually. I'm happy with it so far. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=336048 |
Just won this pair of Tacx Tao water bottle cages for $8.00 on eBay:
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Tacx-Tao-Ligh...qiw~~60_57.JPG I'm hoping I can get them cleaner than they look in the photo, or at least as clean as they'd look after a few months on the bike. I have one of these and love it, so these are for my wife's bike. |

Ordered Monday morning. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow |

Wow those covers take fredliness to a whole new level.

Sure, feel free to post your impressions. I believe it must be a very personal thing but it might have benefits over conventional aluminum round bars. I would love to get one specially seeing how there is only one left but that is something that i dont need RIGHT NOW. I am, however, guilty of committing a shopping spree. This past week ive gotten the castelli speedsuit, dura ace brake pads, the elite tool bottle and a set of castelli free aero race gloves! Gonna look like the biggest poser ever! :)
