Super stoked about this. A benefit of having a yellow bike: fewer people to bid against. |

Never heard of the brand before....the web site is pure Rapha copycat "started by Martin and Peter Velits"...interesting if you are devoted to merino wool... |
Yep, and is one of the reasons I grabbed her. It was almost a grand off the MSRP for the Ultegra S5 and was in my size and when I figured that part out I told the sales guy at my local shop get ready to cut the seat post to my Fit because your not hanging this back on the wall.

I've been on a spending spree recently since the future wife is out of town.
Bought the following this week: Cycle Ops Training Block, Training Skewer, 2 low profile Cadence Magnets that sit in the pedal allen slot, Conti Trainer Wheel, Shimano Chainwear tool, Garmin Cadence/speed sensor unit (for use on a spare older bike I will now relegate to the trainer), A small Honeywell fan (to help keep the fluid trainer heatsink and tire cooler) and a pair of Lake CX226 Road Shoes (with the BOA lacing system that actually comes in the 1/2 sizing I need of 44.5 since the size up and down just don't fit right). Almost bought a pair of HED Ardennes SL wheels as they are on clearance at a LBS that I had a groupon store credit for, but I decided against it because they are pre 11 speed models and also having to explain that purchase to the future wife was a battle I am definitely avoiding for now. |

Buddy at work likes to bid on these big lots of items that have been lost in the USPS and sit unclaimed for a couple of months. Then he sells the stuff online for profit. He just recently got a couple of lots and found 2 or 3 Continental Grand Prix 4-Seasons tires in 700x25 that he's going to hook me up with. Sweet!

Zippy, thanks for the tip. It better than having the coffee shop cap. :thumb:

Be sure to get some of these.
I find that I tend to unclip on one side (right side) at lights, etc., and this causes a part of the yellow base of my right cleat to wear faster. I'm trying to remember to unclip more often with my left foot, but habits can be hard to break. |

just payed for some used Campagnolo Record 10 speed brifters off eBay. K-Edge chain catcher and silicone garmin 510 case just came in the mail :D
|
a full sram force group with sram red chainrings, only slightly used for ~$750
k-edge chain catcher and a set of conti race 28 tubes. So much for taking my time with the caad10 build... oh well :) |
Waiting to hear from the guy putting my new 50cm Trek 520 together. He said that he would call me later today and hopefully he can get it done today so I can pick it up (he did offer to bring it up to me as the shop is a 40 mile trip and he lives fairly close to me. But I am just too antsy and want to get on it asap. 'Sides .. there is a nice bike trail across the street from the shop :0)

Anyone rolling with one of these gold plated cages?
I stumbled upon these on ebay. Weight weenies will probably have a coronary. Just add a few Swarovski crystals and it would be perfect. ;-) http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0080a350.jpg http://i938.photobucket.com/albums/a...psa712c9c9.jpg |
Stan's is sending me a warranty replacement Alpha 340 rim.
When rebuilding my rear wheel with a new BHS SL210 hub, I noticed a crack at a spoke hole. I called Stan's this morning, and they offered to send a new one to me free of charge. IMO, Alpha 340 are great rims for ultra lightweight wheels. I weigh about 170, and got 15,000 miles of use out of them before having a problem. |
Gold plated cages?! Probably one of the cheaper upgrades I could get...

Bought a pair of 700x18-23mm tubes.
|
Woohoo my new Conti GP4S's saved me 285 grams total rotating weight as compared to my stock Vittoria Zaffiro wire-bead tires. They weighed in right around 220 grams each vs. 360+ each for the old tires.
