Definitely too late to send back now, I will tactfully ask if they ended up overpaying for them in error and see where it goes.. I've put 50mi on the shoe since and definitely love them but hate these Speedplays so far.

I guess it depends on what you pay attention to. If I was spending $350-$400 on shoes, I would know exactly what they look like. The new sworks shoe does stick out like a sore thumb in difference.

They take an asinine amount of force to clip into, something probably isn't right though. Previously coming from a SPD-SL. I know there's a break-in period but this seems really odd.

I've seen people have problems getting in, but I've never experienced it. I used X type speedplays for many years, and was given a new set of Zeros the other day. Both are easy for me to get in and out of, but the old X type pedals seem to float more freely.

break-in period is 2-3 rides...make sure and use a little lube on the cleat spring areas, makes everything easy...

Did you RTFM? Most Speedplay noobs don't and they end up over-tightening them (very easy to do), which results is asinine amounts of force needed to clip in.

oh haha @itrsteve there you are on BF, I thought I had seen that S-Works shoe pic earlier this morning :p

Di2 9070 upgrade from Di2 7090. Was happy with 7090 but guy offered me 800 for it. Done deal.

+1. I over tightened mine and couldnt snap out one foot while testing them. Had to take the shoe off. The four screws should be tightened until you feel a slight click. If you torque them down all the way, it makes them very hard to clip out of.

I picked up a set of Vittoria Rubino Pro Slick tires from chainlove for $20 each. I don't need them yet but that's what I have now and I liked them so I figured I'd get them while they're on sale. I also bought this jacket for $56: http://www.hincapie.com/products/men..._vests/30510M/

I recently bought a new 105 group set.. It's going on my old bike to give it a new life.

Right? Lesson learned. Didn't know the savings of a possible $80 was so massive. I casually let the manager know yesterday, told him that I wasn't looking for money but to make sure they didn't overpay for them. He tagged me in the group ride today and said he owed me money. The gesture is good enough for me. KOM'd the little local hill sprint this morning, I'm blaming it on the shoes for now.

When I originally tested them out they kept backing off the screws to make the engagement easier, this worked fine until the cleat shifted to the side of the shoe and my pretty new shoes in question were rubbing against the crank on each rotation.

I do like the pedals once you're in them though. There's no play on the upstroke like there was with my SPD-SL's. Just getting clipped in has been a bit of an annoyance.

I picked up a set of these for almost half off a retail off of craigslist. Gotta love the impulse purchases of the college student who works at a bike shop that realizes that he should've used that money to pay down student loans instead.

Now I could use a new cassette to go with them.

Got a KILLER deal on this Rapha Pro team jacket! Will go nicely with my Rapha Insulated pro team bib shorts I'm gonna get for colder riding. The Rapha pro team line up is so amazing!

I've no idea, and I've never even thought about it before.

New shoes and some cooler weather pants. Only a few more months of riding for me here in MN.

the cranks are fantastic, no more creaky square taper for me and they were a breeze to install!
