I wanted the Ted King, King of the Road version with the maple syrup graphic sticking out of the back pocket, but the sugoi site said it was sold out today when I went to buy it, so I found this one on Amazon instead...also $10 cheaper!

Being from Michigan originally I have a special fondness for plaid...I'm also a big fan of Canada...I couldn't resist.

I'll have to contact/drop by Sugoi HQ to pick one up.
Be on the look out for the Ted King version too.

recent purchase was yesterday when nashbar had their 21% sale. picked up this nashbar carbon frame for wifey's first carbon bike build. will build it up with Shimano Dura-Ace 7800 and Dura-Ace wheelset for starter. then eventually move to carbon rims.

if anyone rides this please chime in, i'd love to hear all the good and bad about it. the reviews on nashbar has been all positive.. so rather hear it from BFer's

Yeah, I follow Ted on Strava and he actually told me to call Sugoi to order one because their site was messed up and that there were still plenty in stock. I realize he was just trying to sell me his jersey, but I felt special that he actually responded to me.

hmmm a Cannondale CAAD10-3 my first modern road bike after 32 years on a steel tube shifter bike (which will remain my commute bike). Howver this means I need a whole slew of things that I have bought over time for the steel for the CAAD10. Things that in the past I never thought were needed but now see the advantage (like a frame mounted pump) and things that I don't need with the steel (like bike shorts...the seat is a lot harder so long rides are less comfortable). And then there are pedals and shoes :(. So 1 purchase spawns a dozen more :D

You'll have to post pics of your 2 bikes side by side.
That would be a nice pic!

I'm in Switzerland for another week and finally made it to a shop that sells Assos clothing. I love it, got to try it on & make sure it all fits... something I can't do at home. So I got this...\

A TrainerRoad subscription! Love what I see so far, lacking a bluetooth dongle to incorporate my Kinetic PM.

loxx0050 10-07-13 10:23 AM

I picked up a couple of new saddles for the road and Tri bikes.

For the road got an ISM Adamo Prologue and the for the Tri got a ISM Adamo Time Trial.

Also received a Bontrager Aero Bottle and cage last Friday. Got it off of fleabay for an awesome price and $10 off for first ebay purchase coupon (in many many years) in good shape.

Now I gotta get my sit bones used to the new saddles as the first ride with the Prologue I could really feel it about 20-25 minutes in (my sensitive parts didn't even feel like I was out riding). The TT saddle wasn't easy and within the first minute I sat on it (to adjust the seat position) I could feel the pressure on my sit bones that I definitely wasn't used to. It will be trainer miles with this seat every now an then to get used to it in the near future.

Gore is terrific stuff! I'm about to go on a gore shopping spree. I have to say that bang for the buck they cant be beat. One thing I'll never buy again, is castelli ANYTHING... They might be super sexy looking and whatnot but they blowwwww bad. Anything from my cold weather bib, lether pittards to my brand new speed suit full of holes. If I do italian I do Giordanna from now on. The rest is Gore.

Which one did you get?

Bike Rebel 10-07-13 06:50 PM

I got the Balance III for $48. It's the Windstopper fabric so it's not supposed to be waterproof only water-repellent but it did an excellent job keeping me dry. I also have a Gore Alp II jacket but it's strictly a Goretex shell and gets pretty clammy.
