I'm planning on buying an Evo too.

Screaming deals going on right now. I paid less than the Six13 for this bike back in 05. I almost went Di2 but things go dead on me that have batteries :D hope you get a fricken awesome glycogen removal tool!

Ps you'll want to get rid of the new seat too...

Are the flat sides stable (i.e. non-slippery)? I've been thinking about buying PD-A530 as well. I want to go clipless come next spring, so I could wait until then. However, my current platform pedals are slippery when I ride in the rain, even against my Shimano cycle shoes. I want to buy platform pedals that grip well in the rain but don't want to spend money on them and end up switching to SPD pedals in a few months. If the PD-A530 has solid flat sides, then I can just buy them now - two birds with one stone.

The non-clip side of the PD-A530 has grooves or treads that will provide decent traction against the shoes. It's more compatible with shoes that have rubber soles, but if cycling shoes are to be used expect slipping to happen at any point in time, or worse, a whack-a-shin. Add wet weather and things can get more exciting. The keyword here is "decent".

After a week and 470+ miles, I found the "flats" side of the A530 to be a compromise, and a poor one at that. I found the treads were too slick for normal shoes, and more times than not the clip side would face up. I'd be surprised if they weren't more slippery than the pedals you're running now.

But the real problem was that one of the pedals had an abnormal amount of float when clipped in, and tended to twist but not release, which resulted in a rather nasty low-speed fall on gravel. I got rid of those in favor of M540 pedals and bought a pair of Keen SPD-compatible sandals to use for casual riding, and haven't looked back.

The only downside was that the M540s need an 8mm hex wrench vs. a normal 15mm pedal wrench.

This one is way better.

I don't know if it is better since but I do love the form factor and the color options. :thumb:

Purchased a sales rep sample Vis 180 Micro on a 75% discount. Mounting system isn't as bad as the reviews claim. Also tried out a cheap jersey from Sports Authority that is quite comfortable. Not sure how long it will last but we will see.

I had a 180 Micro for a day, thought the mount was awful. Not to mention the USB port broke off the PC board the first time I plugged it in.

I can't comment on the Vis 180 Micro but the full size Vis 180 is a superior made product.

Cheap jersey's? That's the only kind of jersey I buy! All jersey's have one thing in common, 100% polyester is used to wick away moisture faster than other fabrics and dry faster, this applies to $12 jerseys as much as it does for $150 jerseys. Sure the durability is less with a $12 jersey, you may get two seasons out of one whereas with a $150 jersey you may get 3 seasons. You know what the worst thing is about more expensive jerseys are? The freaking gaudy billboard advertisements they plaster all over it, no thank you, if I'm going to wear an advertisement on me than they better give me the jersey for free!

yeah, she is pretty great. For the longest time my mom couldn't afford to buy me brand name ANYTHING. Years later my mom and step dad are living very comfortably and my mom likes to spoil us every now and then.

Don't ask? I don't think there's anything wrong with that wheelset. In fact I think that's a great wheelset for street use, it's low cost so if a wheel gets bent in an accident you won't be crying, and it's sturdy so it will hold up longer on the street than light weight wheels. The Pure wheels and the Soul wheels http://2013.bikesoul.com/s3-0/ represent fantastic deals in the world of wheels.
