I'm going to convert my '05 LeMond Etape to 9 speed and upgrade from the Sora thumb lever sti.

How many people run a generic Chinese carbon wheel set?

Just purchased a 6750 Ultegra compact crank from ebay and a 6700 BB from the LBS. I'm going to replace the FSA Gossamer that I put on the Giant OCR-C when I converted to a compact double. The 6750 has a smaller crank length. I'm going from a 175 to a 170. I tried a 170 on the other bike I have, a Tarmac and found I had more power at the end of a ride. So while I'm at it, I thought I'd shed some weight with the lighter crank.

my friend does he uses Yeo(something)... he loves them. But not sure he's done some of the descents in traffic like I have lately. Which is my reasoning for getting Al clinchers.

I've never been to the SanJo swap meet.. finding a cadd10 for that kind of coin... makes me wanna go

I did, never again. The wheels were true out of the box but the spokes were not tensioned correctly so they popped and pinged on the first ride. The brake tracks on both wheels were uneven and grabbed while braking. A spoke disconnected from the nipple in the first 100km so I trued / tensioned the wheel. It lasted about 1000 km until I went riding in the mountains and melted the rear brake track where it was grabbing on a descent with lots of hair pin switch backs. The carbon is very thin in that spot and it looks like the tire will blow off the rim at that point so its not safe to ride anymore.

You get what you pay for...
