I think I just found my next purchase. Stuck on red (bike is white/red) or neon.

alexaschwanden 12-14-14 01:20 PM

I bought two 5 hour energy shots, and three cliff bars chocolate.

I bought a Henty Wingman. Keeps the suit dry on the commute from the gym to the office in the rain. Planning on buying another for my husband as well.

Just ordered this Christmas/Birthday present to myself. Harder and harder to motivate to get out on the road this time of year, especially in NYC where it takes that extra little bit of umph to deal with traffic, peds and cold :notamused:.

Hopefully this helps - really looking forward to trying TrainerRoad, have heard nothing but good things.

It's great. But it sucks. You'll understand soon enough.

Haha - yeah I know, I've owned a trainer before. Awful but I think I was riding my strongest come Spring those couple years.

Just ordered a new/back-up set of Wellgo pedals. Oh... yeah I ordered a new/back-up chain as well.

I bought a new/back-up saddle a month or so ago when the brand/model I like was discontinued. I searched around and found a vendor that had some in stock and bought a spare. Then I got to thinking... I keep a stock of tubes. Now I had a saddle... I might as well keep spares of everything.

Speedplay pedals, switched over from older SPD style. Love the float but they are hard to clip into until they break in a little.

Solidjake 12-17-14 09:45 AM

Got myself a gopro just to record my rides in case something happens and for other things

alexaschwanden 12-17-14 10:03 AM

:thumb: A lot of riding but doable if you go at least twice a week and put in some long rides every month. I was able to do 1400 in 11 months which is good for my first year or road cycling.

Which did you get? I have my float dialed down to almost nothing, and after a couple thousand miles they always get really floaty. I hate that feeling.

Really? What do you find better about them? I'm going on year 3 with my S-works and they're getting pretty beat. I like to experiment and was looking at the Sidi's, but it seems like they fit some better than others. Hoping that someone who had (and liked) the S-works fit could give insight...

Look into Bont vaypor or Bont Vaypor +

Coming from 2 years of riding mainly S works and thinking they were the best shoe bar none for me, I stand corrected after riding both pair of my Bont vaypor +. They have narrow, standard and wide widths available, the entire sole (not just the insole) is moldable (infinite amount of times to get that perfect fit), but the best part of this shoe is the shape of the toe box.

Not saying I have it so you should also, just recommending yiu look into them considering you liked the sworks shoes as did i.

I found them to have a substantially better construction quality, made of higher grade materials and have an overall more high end feel, and they feel more solid on the foot as well. I find the closure system to feel more secure, and then the big kicker for me is the speedplay sole which Specialized does not offer at all.

I'll liken it to someone owning a Lexus for 5 years and thinking they had a great car (it is a really good car) and one day upgrading to a Rolls Royce. You could never go back to that (relative) POS Lexus again, right?

also, I usually think @bianchi10 has great taste, but really dude? Bont? those shoes are so hideous, they look like tri shoes from performance bike, even though I know they aren't.
