You can get rid of the Virb to GoPro adapter

@Gus90

This part eliminates one set of thumbscrew and acorn nut as well as the use of the adapter. Result is lighter weight and a more direct connection, with the possible benefit of reducing vibration. Attaches with the same screws used by the GoPro Interface. K-Edge Combo Mount Virb Interface on Shapeways

Nice design, thanks for the info. Better than having to buy the K-edge adaptor and then having to buy a whole set of Virb adaptors just to get the one piece that connects to the K-edge mount. I've had to do this for three bikes and it's annoying. Wish I would have known about this part before spending the cash on all the adaptors.

Wish they'd include the screw and nut on that adaptor you linked to though.

Shapesways 3D prints, that's all they do. Screws are M3 x 4 mm Flat-head socket screws (Lowe's, HomeDepot, or your local ACE), and the thumbscrew and nut is that same one that came with all your Virb stuff.

Pair of Rapha shorts from the local shop. Apparently Rapha is no longer going through bike shops, only online and Rapha club sales, so everything left was half off, but only one item in size small.

I bought a spoke for my dads rear wheel, cost 15$ with trueing.

Is this your way of trying to convey that you dislike a brand?

He probably never tried them.... current pro team are the best Ive used... classic and older proteam, not as good.

bmcphx 03-22-15 09:34 PM

The current pro team is the best I have in terms of comfort, and I've got every high end bib short there is to compare.

comfort is pretty much 98% of bib score for me... so I agree with ya.

bmcphx 03-22-15 10:17 PM

So what do you pay for?

At retail? Nothing.

PI is very good, and at 60% off it's even better.

Rapha makes nice clothing, but their prices are unsane.

They aren't better than PI, but they ask more for their stuff.

bmcphx 03-22-15 10:30 PM

So all of your comments are based on you being judgmental, got it. Take the smugness elsewhere, and yes, one can be smug about their thriftiness. It's annoying.

So since you bring it up, I guessed you for a pearl izumi guy just based on previous posts of yours. It's fine if you like it, but it's not for me and the quality and fit is nowhere near the level of assos or rapha.

Three things I take into consideration when buying cycling clothes is the fit of the garment, the quality of the garment, and then the appearance. PI doesn't make much that fits me the way I want it to, and their top end stuff, which does for decently, is too expensive for the quality.

But it's cool, you should just go to the pi outlet at anthem and load up on cheap fabrics, then it'll give you more smugness to project on bike forums.

Then let's bring up the fact you started all this over my post which said I got half off at the local shop. **** dude, you find me a $100 bibshort that's half as good and I'll eat it.

I'm 6'2" and just flirting with 180#.

In my opinion I'm carrying about 10# too much.

That's your second post displaying poor reading comprehension.

Try again.

Rapha makes nice stuff, but it's nothing great.

Congratulations for buying into their marketing....Suckah!

After reading the last few posts, I was a bit reluctant to post this one but what the heck. I'm not affiliated with Pearl Izumi in any way, though. :D

I have plenty of PI stuff... bibs don't cut it... but their gloves, hats, and arm and leg warmers are fine. Even many of their jackets are nice. Rapha pro team bibs are the snizzle... yeah I didn't pay retail, but I would if I had too. I can pretty much wear anything under 50miles.. but anything more then that...I'm wearing rapha.

I've got those... my only complaint is the hard plastic logo on the back (now removed) and that the color faded ridiculously fast.

I've bought a used Edge 800, a new blackburn airstick SL, extra tubes and some extra co2 cartridges.

tomorrow I'll be buying shipping to send my road bike to vegas and back for GF las vegas.
