Man, where do I start....

Bought the douglas Ti bike from an older lady that said it was her husbands...skewers were rusted solid but she maintained that it wasn't left outside.

Brought it to the shop and had them do an overhaul. They said good thing since about a cup of water came out of the BB!

Anyways...onto the schwag!

Got a Selle italia signo seat, thompson 240mm masterpiece post, shorty salsa bar stem, gray michelin pro3's, new tubes, replaced all cables/housings, brake pads, ultegra pedals, new gray bar tape. Took it for a 12 mile test ride yesterday and it was awesome. Just needs some minor FD tweaking to get the ultegra indexing working right.

So that bill wasn't enough, I had to go and buy more today. Douglas carbon fiber chainstay protector, FSA 130X53T chainring and a couple dozen clif bars/shot blocks and bike calenders for christmas gifts.

It's at the shop, maybe early next week.

Possibly a Colnago is next.

reminds me... I need to sell my Vega that I rarely use. it's the older, smaller 85 lumen model.

Shimano Flight Deck computer and bracket/button kit for the DA levers I got a couple weeks ago. At 75% off, I figure I'll give it a shot.

Nice score enjoi! I thought i was getting a good deal on a rival crankset, slightly used, no bb, for $100. But $150 for new Force cranks is even better!

Unfortunately this idiot paid retail. It does fit really nice and I got it from REI, so eventually I'll have that 10% back. It needed a thermal base layer in the 38 degree ride yesterday, but has much better temp regulation that my previous jacket (just hot, then cold from sweating). It'll be nice into the low 30's to high 20's, and it rarely gets any cooler here. It'll also be a great 45-55 jacket with just a jersey under.

enjoi07 12-07-09 10:11 PM

no worries, i paid $70 for the pi vest. it was just to cool looking too pass up. and i do not know why i am asking about a jacket when i live in san diego!

pacificaslim 12-07-09 11:08 PM

I bought a bottle of heart rate signal enhancer gel and guess what? the stuff actually works! no more drop signal and no more looking at my garmin to see that my heart rate is 240 bpm!
