Finally upgraded my road/gravel bike to 10 speed. I got a nice deal on a Sram Apex mini group (brifters, cassette and rd/fd) so I will be slowly installing that getting ready for a new season. I will have my first gravel race at the end of March.

I went a bit crazy the past month or so. 2016 Jamis Renegade Expat with GP4 Seasons(winter bike), Planet Bike Fenders, Tiagra 4700 crank, Tacx Voretex Smart, Garmin 810, 2 pairs of Garmin speed/cadence sensors, Castelli Sorpasso bib knickers, Castelli Free Aero bib shorts, Gore WS shoe covers, Gore WS gloves, Shimano Accu3dr bib tights, Sugoi Sub zero leg warmers, Endura Merino baselayer, Castelli Merino socks, Shimano 6800 pedals, some Ibera side-pull bottle cages and more. I use and abuse all of it, so no regrets. I was very close to getting a 5800 gruppo for the Jamis from Ribble just because it is so cheap, and also eyeing the 2016 Felt AR1 frameset. I need to find a support group. No more cycling stuff for me 'til summer.

needed a warm high viz jacket for cheap as I start a new job on monday that involves cycling of 8 miles every morning in the dark and cold

so I bought a Dunlop High Viz jacket with fleece and inner lining for cheap .... really warm ... and worth the money ....

Can't wait to test this out this weekend. :)

dim 02-11-16 01:30 AM

time for a new front light (from monday, I leave home at 05h15 in the pitch dark and it involves an 8 km cycle commute of which half is on roads with no lights

so, I ended up buying one of these Solarstorm Cree lights for cheap .... I have a good back light (Cygolite hotshot)

http://g02.a.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1D27bI...-bicicleta.jpg

I will also buy the Hope universal handlebar mount .... guys use this with the Solarstorm instead of using the rubber rings ... you use the same screw that is on the underside of the light (The Hope Bracket screw is the wrong diameter)

Got fitted to my new Masi. And consequently, a new stem. Also came to the conclusion it may be time for a refit on my road bike.

I thought it looked cool but when I showed it to my missus she said that it looks girly so I don't know if I want to put it on my bike anymore. I thought it would go well with my black and white crochet gloves...

A friend of mine found an uber deal on some light weight oil for home brew chain lube. He found a few 5 quart jugs of Pennzoil 0w20 for the whopping total of $1.00 per jug.

Must have been a closeout or something. Anyway, he's giving me a 5 quart jug. I'll probably take him out for a beer for his generosity. Looks like I'll have plenty of home brew chain oil for the next couple of months. :D
