Fuji Altamira 1.1, $1,499 for a somewhat Ultegra low-end Carbon bike.

this will be my backup / "Gran Fondo" bike.

Main ride is a just-acquired 2013 TCR SL 1 (aluminum TCR, new old stock).

Will pick it up, get fitted tomorrow. I have brand-new Ultegra WH-6800 wheelset equipped with 6800 Ultegra 11-speed cassette to slap on the Fuji tomorrow. First Fuji. Will see how it is.

Picked up a pair of Bont Vaypor in white/black, so far I love them and love the price I got them for. They fit my feet way better then my S-work ones. (Sorry for my Black and White photo)

Nice backup, even though I never ridden one.I prefer the Gran Fondo style bikes as I get older and faster.
Also I did something similar to my Scott Solace adding new lighter stronger wheels(PBW) and replacing the 105 cassette with A Ultegra.
And new saddle and I like wider bars.

I think they made a mistake with the pricing and are wriggling out.

bought another bike today (2nd hand) .. mint condition and will use this as my 'shopping bike' .... The LBS will fit new tyres, new cables, new saddle, fenders and a rear pannier rack plus full service .... I have very good panniers that I will fit .... was not a bargain and paid a fair price but I was always after a Kona Dew .... From what I have read, it's much better than a Trek FX .... I collect it next week thursday

(not a pic of mine, but this pic is the same model/colour)

For 2016 Fuji has a 20lbs carbon, ultegra, road bike called Altamira 1.1, it was $1580. It is heavier than my 17lbs Giant TCR aluminim
But the ride of carbon sure dampens road vibrations.

I finally got mine, but it still shows as "processing" when I log into their website.

It it took a little over 2 weeks to arrive, but that is about what I expect for UK websites other than Chain Reaction Cycles. CRC is 4-5 calendar days on every order.

I emailed them after a week, and they responded saying that they were having issues with their website. A day later my bank account posted the purchase, and it was about a week later the order arrived

They mailed me yesterday.

Thanks for your email and I am sorry about the time taken to respond,

Unfortunately we have completely sold out of these saddles so will be unable to fulfil your order.

I have therefore arranged therefore for your order to be cancelled and your Paypal account refunded.

We can only apologise for this and any inconvenience this has caused.

Best Regards

Then I offered to wait as I was not in a hurry. Their reply:

Hi

Thanks for your reply,

There is no date on when or if we will be receiving more stock of these.

So we have no choice but to refund you for this order unfortunately.

Best Regards

Aftershokz Trekz Bone Induction Wireless Headphones.

Going to try these out, had an Amazon coupon for trading in my old iPhone and iPad through Gazelle so got these for about $20 total.

*update: So I've been trying them out last few days and they really do the trick, I can hear around me. Music quality is good, obviously not as good as normal in ear or over ear headphones. Pretty comfortable too. Plus, I could answer a phone call or have it read an unread text message to me and allow me to respond (pressing the "talk" button activates Siri on my iPhone). I can see this coming in handy every once in a while.

This is a 2016 Fuji Altamira 1.1. It is C5 carbon and not the Altamira 1.1 of yesteryear.

Here are the specs:
Fuji Bikes | ROAD | COMPETITON SERIES | ALTAMIRA 1.1

After 1 ride, I am gonna have to sell the TCR. The TCR is a size too big for me anyway, but the Fuji is just plain amazing and when a bike is correctly sized it makes a huge difference.

holy crap i thought you were kidding about the 20 lbs hahaha But you could easily make the bikes weight 16 pounds

that vera corsa wheels has to go, they are at least 2 to 3 lbs right there. than the seatpost, saddle, stem and handlebars, that's another 2 to 2.5 maybe 3 lbs lbs right there you can make it 15 pounds easily, 17lbs just by switching the wheels set and lighter tires tubes.
