It's 2016...what cycling lenses are NOT made of plastic, TimTak?

I had a pair of Oakley's for a couple of years. Road in everything with them, including getting pretty dirty on some wet ride. Still no scratches. If they scratch, they do.

Guess I should have mentioned I got those frames, but went with the prescription, transition lenses. I got caught a few times in the dark with my current glasses, so I decided to get transitions.

I hope the transitions get dark enough for your area. Here they aren't dark enough, but the it's usually extremely bright sunshine.

The lens shape and frames work great for cycling. They work so well that I now rarely use my Jawbreakers or Radarlocks.

all shatterproof lenses are plastic. Glass works well for many uses, but cycling isn't one of them.

Picked up the new bike today, (only needed), well wanted to swap my crank set out between the two bikes. I am really happy with the purchase and can not wait to race with it. Sorry about the bottles, I was testing out the new bottle cages. I need to figure out if I can get the black HED decals for the wheels, I think they would look better. I got my custom focus fully ready for sale as well. Its been along day of bikes.

@MakiNn: I can't believe you're selling the Focus - that bike is hot.

I know, tis a sad day but.. the new bike is stiffer, lighter, and supporting a local business is always nice. The man I bought the bike from has won many races on it so maybe it will bring some magic juju haha, this is what the last picture of the focus looked like before I made some of the switches.

Unfortunately what you said is true, like everything else they want you to buy $200 or so pair of glasses every couple of seasons, or you get wrap around fishing glasses made of a laminated glass and plastic and have them last at least 15 years. Of course I hear the argument about the glass will shatter, my Bolle's never did nor did they ever scratch, and they were clearer than any cycling glasses I've ever tried.

Not really a big fan of Oakley stuff - this is a serious post - it seems cheap as hell to me and is an enormous price point. Jawbreakers feel like they should be $30-40 tops.

I'm a Ray Ban man... Like entry level old style wayfarers. They're even too much at $107.

this is why you have to watch for closeout sales on older styles. I'm riding a bike for exercise not to make a fashion statement unlike a lot of other cyclists; besides I'm married I could care less if some woman sees me and thinks to herself I'm a fashion idiot.

What happens when you give 0 ****s and are single though? Is that how you stay single? I've shown up to casual social events in sweat pants. Oops. Dgaf.

Do you really think that a woman cares that you're wearing the latest sunglass fad...err fashion while riding your bike? That's pretty shallow, and if she does then she's not the woman for you! Or let's flip this around, you're so shallow that you think the only thing you have to offer a woman is how you're dressed because underneath all them neat clothes is just a facsimile of a man.

Na, I completely agree. Lately I've been feeling more like I am the sum of parts; experience, drive, and survival. True grit wins over pedigree, school prestige, labels. Somewhere I am channeling my rugged ass Yankee grandfather who rarely took **** from anyone, much less the establishment's norms.

Edit: He used to show up to our house when I was younger with a plastic bottle of Lord Calvert's whiskey which he drank straight up, and *****ed about taxes. God rest his soul.

I didn't want to get another jersey, but I Snagged the limited edition Chain Reaction Charity MAAP Jersey. Glad I did because they sold out in less than a week!

Looks a little like Miami Vice...the colors are just a bit less 80's (needs more lavender).

I'll never order from them again.

Got the 2 that I ordered. Finally. Still says 'processing' on the website though.

How do you like the saddle? The website says level 2 padding. I'm on the Toupe which has level 1. Wonder how this will be.

Edit: Delivered to my nephew in Aus. Not in my hands yet.

Not bought but sold, I sold the Focus today to a older gentlemen. Hopefully it went a good home, he didnt seem like the one to ride a stiff, slammed bike.

I haven't even used it yet. This saddle is going on a frameset that hasn't been completed. In November of 2014 I was offered a custom frame by a local builder, and it's still not finished.

I can't complain though, because he's giving me the frame in return for critique and exposure.

Sorry if the size is too big, I'll fix it if it is.

Bought it about 2 weeks ago.

dougmon 03-25-16 04:49 PM

Mmm...got Pinhead Locks for wheels, seatpost, and headset. Probably won't change my behavior as far as locking everything with a ulock and a cable, though.
