Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

While I didn't buy this because I don't need one, I had to show this to you all because the deal is just too crazy, a SRAM X7 3x10 front derailleur for just $2.97? That's not a misprint, and the sale is only good for today only: SRAM X7 3x10 Direct Mount Front Derailleur | SRAM

And if you look at the Price Point closeouts there's more front derailleurs and other stuff just being blown out: items under 30 | sale | Discounted Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes and Cycling Gear at PricePoint.com

After my iphone overheated in the top tube case the second time last week, I bought a Wahoo RFLKT. Two rides in, powering it with cyclemeter from my phone in my back pocket, I'd say it's a BIG improvement. Makes me more aero, too!

This was a great tip, thanks. I got a bunch of bits and bobs for the workbench super cheap. (6 packs of quick links for <$10, rim strips for $0.50, bottom bracket tool for $2, etc etc)

it was hidden in a shed at my client's home and covered with a sheet .... it's in very good condition and looks exactly like this one:

Update: I finally got around to taking my wife to the Trek LBS for her to see if she might be more comfortable with this trike after the difficulties she had with the 20-incher, and she loved it.

The best thing about it is that it can be converted into a regular bicycle later with reasonable ease; all I need to do is to simply unbolt the rear assembly and install an assembled wheel. How simple or how complex I decide to make it is completely up to me; I'm already thinking about a multi-speed hubs... Rohloff 14-speeder, anyone?

Before that, though, I'm already checking out double freewheel solutions to make it two-wheel drive instead of right-wheel drive.
