Shimano SH-M089 SPD compatible shoes. These are my first honest-to-goodness cycling shoes and I don't know if it is just the excitement of a new bit of gear, but I had a great ride today...
up until the NDS crank arm came off as I was going uphill. But still, I can also attest to these shoes' walkability off the bike

One of the guys at the local dealer knew that what I really wanted was a Verve 3 when I got my 2 a few months ago. So last week a few 3's somehow found their way into their inventory, so he texted me as soon as he got a matte black 15-incher into the shop, so I asked him to set it aside for me to pick it up the next day. Jackass coworker of his who didn't bother to ask sold it off to another customer; I got pissed; ended up picking up another 15" in glossy black-blue from the branch nearer to my home.
Different gearing (11-32 as opposed to the Verve 2's 14-34); different saddle, and slightly different handlebars mean I'm still making adjustments - and adjusting myself - to get as comfortable as I was on the 2, which I have up for sale along with the Shift 2 - albeit with some reluctance.

Bought a couple of sets of Dura Ace shifters for the Sallanches64. Had one installed and can't wait to try it. The other bike is in the shop waiting it's turn.

A Hodgson frame pump. I bought this tiny thing so it would be inconspicuous. It's so small it fits in my seat bag. I took a chance on it because it was inexpensive and honestly didn't really think it would do the job. But I will fill a 25c to more than adequate riding pressure pretty quickly so it will at least get me home.

Derailleur cable. Wouldn't drop to smaller cogs, and it turns out there were only two strands of wire still intact under the hood.
Before that, some half-price Vittoria Paves (they sure oughta be discounted - being discontinued and all). Nice thing about bicycle tires is that they're sure to wear out before they get too old. When I moved to the suburbs, I bought a used car, and at first glance, the tires looked virtually new. Sure enough, they only had a few hundred miles on them, but they were seven years old! Take a close look and you could see the cracking....

Planet X
Bought some jerseys from Planet X mine favorite two I wear the most has seen much use commuting/ riding this year. I wanted a Me brighter ones and some warmer ones for the fall. They had some deals. Thought I had figured out my size but they are too tight. I wish they would consistently provide size charts for their merchandise. I don't think I will any more from them. 😕

Scored a deal on some like-new Ultegra pedals to replace my beat up Lookies.

Picked up some Forte Corsa2 Carbon road pedals to replace my Shimano PD-R540 pedals. Big difference in weight and only 6g heavier and $50 cheaper than the Ultegra pedals . Let's see how they perform and hold up.

Got a great deal on some CycleOps Rollers today on CL... WAY more quiet than the Minoura i got last year and really close to the ground to make getting on and off easier. Now if i could only get on/off without a wall i'd really be happy. Any tips?
