I totally agree. I've owned the aluminum version for the past five years and finally gave it away and used my generosity as an excuse for a minor upgrade.

I like to see anyone try to get that pump to deliver 100 psi into a tire.

From Merlin?

Your orders better not slow mine down or I'm coming over there and...

Pulled the trigger and picked up a Garmin Edge 820. Purchased it from Bike Tires Direct and used my account credit to knock off 35 bucks from the price with free shipping. Still not cheap but every little bit helps.;)

Again I would like to see a video of you trying to inflate a road tire to 100 psi with that pump.

It is an emergency pump. I only need it to inflate enough to get home/back to car.

I find that a waste of time personally. If I'm fixing a flat on the road my intention is to continue my ride and not cut it short to go home or go back to the car, therefore I want a pump that will give my my usual riding pressure to continue my ride without risk of pinch flats.

I know, MTB. But they are for my gravel/adventure road bike.

Two Whizzer torpedo marker lights.

After 3 years I'm finally upgrading my cheapo walmart bike pump. It worked well enough to put air in my tires, but it leaked so badly that I was burning more calories pumping my tires than riding. I'm hoping the Spin Doctor Pro HP has a good tight seal on it. I know its lame, but I'm super excited to get a new one :D.

Went on a bit of a shopping spree, early birthday presents to myself:

A nice used Ultegra 6800 Compact crankset 50/34T, $85 on Ebay! Delighted with that deal.

Also some new stainless steel bottle cages from Jenson USA, since the welds on my cheap alu bottle cages broke: $8 each

And a new 11-28 Shimano 105 5700 10spd cassette: $30 on Wiggle

I saw that email today and it was tempting but I had to say no.

I have two pair of those bibs, they're fantastic.

Thanks for the good word. It still feels kind of nuts to pay that much for a pair of shorts for crissakes, but I did, so I guess I've officially gone over the edge... ;)

PCS 10 from chainreaction. 3 days from the UK to NZ!

Visited the local specy dealer and picked up a nice saddle for 1/3 the RRP. The sales guy was kinda weird, he insisted on discarding the packaging. Its for my Nishiki commuter but I might try it on my brevet bike too.

I was tempted because I would have ended up paying about a third of what I paid a few years ago for the same product.

sjanzeir 09-09-16 07:27 AM

A longer seatpost for the Phoenix, and el cheapo LED headlights for the Feida.

I'm really beginning to get what this whole single-speed thing is all about! :D I mean yeah, the BMX I rode around while I was in grade school in the 1980s was, for all intents and purposes, a "single-speed," but I never really thought about it at a deeper, more visceral, philosophical level until now!

Fantastic discipline not to have jumped! That, or you decided the thing wasn't worth 1/3 of what you paid for it originally...

Haha, I was the same way when I bought my first expensive kit, then it was so comfy I had to buy another one, and another one, and you get the picture.

I can honestly say that I spend more on bike clothes in a year than I do normal clothes. Priorities! :roflmao2:

Same here, no doubt about it. I'm eyeing a pair of cycling shoes that's got to be 2-3x what I'd be willing to pay for work shoes. And somehow that's quite alright with me ;)
