Hopefully putting lycra & clingy tight clothing behind, except for maybe the hottest months.

Here are my beautiful shoes I just received.

New (to me) CX wheels.

Cost $350, but includes excellent & well glued Grifos, & DA cassette.

^^ Nice.. good find.

minor purchase for me.. new Sram garmin mount for my CX bike. I think they hold the garmin better than the stock mounts and easier to read the map/numbers when i use it for a winter bike on the road.

Recently bought a Giro Foray helmet. Performance had it for $39.00 which was too good that I couldn't turn it down. Also needed it for a while which didn't hurt. Also has the RocLoc 5 strap so fit seems as good if not better than my old Atmos.

I picked up some Speedplay pedals also. Been running them since the early 90's.
Simple, light and easy on the knees. :thumb:

Glad my latest order arrived, Pearl Izumi PRO leg warmers. Forecast for the charity ride I am riding Saturday keeps dropping and now they say 33 F for the low Sat. morning.

Got some new even lighter matte finish carbon cages. 15.5g will do just fine! Ebay cages, 2/$22 free shipping. Quality and craftsmanship is superb! Bottles fit nice and snug with no chance of a bottle popping out, yet easy enough to pull one out

I've been hitting sales and ordered some clothes for deep winter. The winters in DC aren't too bad most of the time, but we usually see a pretty nasty cold snap after the new year. I've got a ton of running gear I can also repurpose for layering if needed. I would still like to pick up a cycling cap that offers some ear protection and fits under a helmet. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Anyway, here's what I grabbed:

I have a set of those on one bike, and the real Bontrager cages on another. After months of daily use, I can't find a functional or cosmetic difference.

Can you provide a link to these cages? I've been looking to replace my Profile cages after launching bottles from them a couple of times from hitting pot holes.

Yesterday I took delivery of some Nitto B136 randonneur touring bars for my Trek 614. Today DHL should be delivering a Brooks Swift saddle for it. I hope to get it all put together this coming Sunday.

Brooks C13 Cambium Carved, in 145mm width. Unfortunately, per REI, I have about another 4 weeks to wait til it ships.

They are going for extra 30% off for black friday specials !

How are the straps, do they run FLAT against your face or dig into your face?

Is this the new wider carbon rail one? Are all the C13's 145mm?

Yes, Carbon Railed. The "carved" version I think is pretty new -- ie. doesn't actually seem to be in stock anywhere just yet except maybe on Brooks' own website.

No, the C13s are available (carved or regular) in 3 widths: 132mm, 145mm, or 158mm. I think when it launched it was only available in the narrow version.

I knew they were making the wider ones but they weren't out last time I looked.

Will be adding one of those to the list!

The straps are good. The haven't scraped or dug into my face so far and I don't expect them to. Close to same clasp as my old Atmos but has RocLoc 5 (instead of the older RocLoc 4 for the Atmos, if I recall). If you can get it for less than what I paid, then its a nobrainer (assuming you need a helmet).
