Bell Draft helmet. Not bad for $39.99! Helmets are one place where cheap is good enough for me.

One of these "cooler caps". Didn't notice a difference in how cool my head was, but it did seem to help with sweat on the brow. (A bit hard to tell because conditions were a bit drier when I used it).

I got the Halo version. They help keep the sweat from pouring into my eyes, and because my hair is ummm challenged, it keeps my scalp from burning

Don't know exactly where to put this but I bought the Osymetric Rings and 3T stem and just attached them - mostly.
Mostly After:
Before:
So far only attached the 52T Osymetric and what I can say from a few minutes pedaling is that it's "weird" - but not in bad way, I'd say an interesting way.
On every pedal stroke it makes you fly through the 4pm-9pm. You spend very little time there and that's a weird sensation. Your foot just tumbles over and wants to get back to the power phase again. Weird.
I'm still a very long way away from any on road testing so sorry if this is all I can say about them so far. This thing is cumbersome set up.
Need to readjust the FD, file a little bit of the crank arm for the smaller ring Osymetric ring to fit, realign the RD etc.
I just set up the big ring on the 11 cassette to finally see what it felt like that's that what I can say so far.

They are really that oblong. I tried them for a few thousand miles, and loved them. The problem I had was with the creaking. No matter what I tried, they would creak under hard efforts.

Here is a photo of the smaller 38T Osymetric ring compated to the 39T Ultegra. The inner ring appears to be even more dramatic.
Q1. How was the installation process, I'm doing all myself - did you have a mechanic do it and if so how long/what did they about the cumbersomeness of it?
Q2. How was shifting, based on the few minutes I've pedaled it appears that appears that you'd wanna time shifts when the pedal stroke is at the 1pm or 7pm position just as the ring is about to reach it's highest point?
Q3. Did you ever experience dropped chains and if so what were the reasons?
Thanks Noodle!

Schwalbe One V-Guards, 700x23, from Jenson. Only $15/ea, presumably because the 2014 is being blown out as a new version is coming in. Just put 'em on Sunday night, rode 'em Monday.
Wow.
Who knew tires could make that much difference? Okay, I guess everybody but me.
I didn't realize how sluggish the Vittoria Zaffiros felt until I tried the Schwalbe Ones Monday. I wasn't even pushing too hard since it was really hot out. But I set several new PRs on some familiar Strava segments. Not fast by seriously fast standards, but definitely fast for me.
I know it felt like I was fighting the Zaffiros to keep rolling, like they had no momentum. And I hadn't been able to improve my times over the past six weeks riding the Zaffiros. But one 36 mile ride on the Schwalbes confirmed it wasn't just a perception. The Schwalbe Ones felt almost effortless to keep rolling.
So *that's* how a 3-5 watt boost feels. Interesting.
