Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That seems absolutely ridiculous. There are much smaller power banks you know.

This is the smallest one that worked. There was only one that was smaller, but it was heavier, pricier, and less than half this one's capacity. Believe you me, I did do my homework.

A Knog Oi bell in copper colour. Unfortunately I can't post pictures/links just yet but will do so when I have the required post count. The bell emerged from a Kickstarter project.

Brand spanking new Campagnolo Chorus 11-speed groupset from Merlin. Ordered Tuesday and waiting for me when I got home today. 3 days from the U.K. to the U.S. Hard to beat that, combined with the price. Seems like everything I've ordered from Merlin over the years get to me within a week at most. Outstanding!

Love the pepper gel, easy to see where it's going. Got a nasty nipper right in the face a few days ago. He stopped dead in his tracks, then ran back to his yard. Never yelped but he did stop barking.

My yesterday purchase, a pair of Thule Freeride 532 racks.

A real delight to mount over the car, easy and fast. Today I drive only a couple of miles with the racks, but the bikes seems to travel very safe.

The bikes (a road Giant SCR2 and an hybrid Peugeot X01) fits very well on the racks, and they have key-lock both for the racks itself and for the bikes. Very convenient.
The only limitation seems to be that the car speed can't be more than 130 km/h, but this speed is enough for me with the bikes on the roof
Regards!!!

I have been thinking of getting a can of pepper gel or spray... need to do it. Read about two people getting attacked by a dog last week.

I finally caved and got the Smith Overtake helmet I've been eying. It'll be fun to see how well it prevents bugs (including bees) from getting to my head. The matte opal/charcoal color matches most of my kit...now I just need a bike to match...

I own the Sorpasso Wind bib tights. Great piece of gear, expensive but worth it for riding in very cold weather.

Some complain that the crotch does not have wind protection but it is not an issue for me in here in the relatively mild deep south.

Hope you sized up!

Freewheel tools. Freewheel better suited to my puny climbing ability. Bearings. Hearing a slight tapping in the rear hub, sounds like it's light on grease although it feels smooth.

Waiting for a new 39T chainring to overhaul the road bike.

And some bifocal safety glasses better suited to my lower riding position on the road bike. My old safety glasses were too thick in the upper frame, slightly blocked my view. With the bifocal insert I can leave my reading glasses home and still see the phone apps.

Specialized 'stix' taillight. Some $ left on a gift card. Had to be ordered & the first one wouldn't charge.

30g, plenty, almost too bright, supposedly good run time. We'll see.

11mm, 12mm, & 2.5mm allen keys.

New 105 Cassette and KMC chain for my road bike. New chain for the CX bike for when that needs it. New Topeak pump head and some disc brake blocks for hydro bleeding and traveling in the car.
