Losing almost 7/10 of a pound off the old Gossamer crank. Ordered a 6700 FD to go with it.

Training wheels and tires. some new shoe covers, and some silver bar tape (going duct tape style for the rest of the winter). Plus I paid off my layaway, so a crap load of other stuff.

some of my new purchases are as follows;

a new bag, micro pump, multi tool, new jersey, spare tube and some C02.......that should do it for now.

locking compound and FSA BB30 bearings. My SRAM Red ceramics are a PITA to maintain, plus I think I screwed one of them up anyway, they're not quite as smooth anymore.

Finally getting some stainless sealed that I don't have to worry about, plus some locking compound to get them in and stop them from creaking like my current ones do.

$55 total with shipping. Half the loctite, half the bearings.

Fifth water bottle cage for the tandem and a "side saddle" pump mount from Performance ($1.93 I think) so I can mount said cage and my pump from the same set of bosses.

My most recent purchase was a "fitting". Money well spent. Feel free to contact me for the shop info if you're in the LA area and interested.

New helmet. Picked up a Specialized Echelon for $60. Seemed a pretty good helmet for the price point, and makes me feel a lot better about my safety. I always wore one on my motorcycle, but not on my bike. Just seemed like a smart thing to do.

This is a few days after my new bike purchase...;800x600].JPG

as well as the new set of kevlar lined, hard case tires I just put on the same (not pictured).

Got the Planet Bike SuperFlash. Thought about the Stealth version, but in the store the original just looked brighter. I kind of wish though that I could switch the cases (i.e., so the SuperFlash has the black casing instead of the white). Oh well. Thing is crazy bright :)

Received as a gift: Neuvation M28 SL rear & R28 SL5 front wheels

the stock wheelset on my cannondale was not great, they were heavy and needed truing. But these new wheels seem like excellent quality for the price, and they roll so smoothly... Absolutely no complaints so far (except for the logo overboard).

rjg001 01-14-10 09:50 AM
