Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just bought a pair of Schwalbe Milano tubular tires for my newly built Mavic GEL280 wheelset.
Looks to be better qulity than the Vittoria Rallies I already have on my other tubular wheelset, but I'm hoping that the Milanos will at least have better tread alignment than the Vittorias, but I guess I can't ask too much if I'm not willing to spend the big bucks for tubular tires. Any feedback out there on the Milanos? Haven't rode on them yet cuase of the bad weather we've been having in the bay area.

Oooh...that seatpost almost looks too nice to stick into a frame and get all scratched up! I always liked the way those "Supertypes" look.
Thought of getting one for my bikes but they don't seem to have made the 26.4 or 23mm size that I need. Rats!

Started a thread on Triangle Cycling about which wheels to buy, Eastons, Mavic Open Pro or Ksyrium Elites. One of the responses was from a local who rides with the same club. She had a set of Ksyrium Elites she wanted to sell with only 300 miles on them. I got both wheels, a 10 speed Ultegra cassette, a like new Michelin Pro Race 2 and a tube for $310. Then found a matching brand new Pro Race 2 for another $20. Throw in another tube and I picked up everything for under $350. I had budgeted $1000. Now what do I do with the other $650?

Slowly getting ready for next season. New bar tape, tires, bottle cage, floor pump and shoes from Bontrager (team order) and some Clif Short from Nashbar shortly. All I need now is some new cables and I am in business.

I needed to replace a worn-out fan to keep me cool when I'm on my rollers. With three days of rain – in what passes for a winter of discontent in Los Angeles – this one was on a blow-out sale for $15.

It's reasonably quiet, and has an adjustable stem (I know, I know, "flip it").

Yessir. I wore blue jeans with it one day though. Ones that I've had for a year or so, with lots of use. Lots of washes. It got tinted. It still looks sweet though.

Just got these today.. Pearl Izumi P.R.O. shoes. I got them on sale for $80 at bikenashbar. These are my first shoes that hae a carbon sole and i have to say, they are really stiff and comfortable.
