Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

love the new designs for 2018
what made me bite after aesthetics was the 7 stiffness and Carbon plate on bottom

1) Topeak HybridRocket HP pump (yet another pump, why??? I just bought another Topeak pump less than a month ago!!! )

2) Cateye Rapid X2 rear light, plus the accessory to attach it to a sharp aero seatpost

3) Topeak Mini 20 Pro multitool

4) Castelli Race Rain Bag so that I can organize all the lights, pumps and misc crap that I have collected

Nice looking setup but pricey. Once my Fizik bag dies I may give this a shot.

eh.. nothing I carry in a saddle bag needs to be protected from water. not worth the hassle (ie. over-engineering), excess layers, and complexity to me. Even the marketing talks about keeping bike tools and spare tubes dry.. really?

Purchased some Pro Vibe Aero 42cm handlebars. They won't get here until mid to late December however.

I'm on my third multi-tool in 11 years on this bike. The first two rusted to the point of being, certainly not unusable, but very difficult to use. So when my old saddle bag disintegrated I definitely considered waterproof-ness an asset in any bag I chose to replace it.

But to be honest the thing that mostly attracted me to the Arkel was the ability to easily remove & search the contents without unstrapping the bag from the saddle. That's a godsend.

I'm not much into multi-tools, but when I saw the Park MT-1, I got one for my toolbag. Pretty useful.

A Topeak Road Morph bracket, so I can stop having to throw my pump into my trunk bag or strap it to my gravel bike, when I'm not using the road bike.

And crap, I meant to order 2 of them instead of just one. DOH!

Put the new shoes together. Think it came together nicely. First set of Corsas or Vittorias in general, loving the ride feel and grip so far.

Just ordered a 6-pack. Had to destroy one yesterday removing a chain from my Supercourse. It didn't want to play nice. I've never had a problem with them before.

A pair of 27 1 1/4 kenda tires for my old road bike off Craigslist. Much better than the 30+ year old tires.

Baby needs a new pair of shoes!

Just bought four 700x32C Continental Grand Sport Race foldable clincher tires on sale for $25.99 each with free shipping. About $35 each elsewhere.

Tire specs:

Also posted this deal in the Hot Deals sticky thread.

Trying another brand of light for the first time. Very unsure of this setup, specifically the rear light

Vibe Pro Smart Bike Light - Light & Motion
Urban 900 Longfin - Light & Motion

Best place to purchase Barfly for Garmin with GoPro mount underneath so that I can mount this headlight?

Do you have one of these? They can be useful to release stubborn Missing Link sets. I got one since I use KMC chains and Missing Links on all my bikes.

Yes I do. When I first started using MissingLinks I found out the hard way that while they may go on without tools, they really don't want to come off without tools. The one I trashed the other day was the exception to the rule.
