Most Likely.... to Die

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Most Likely.... to Die

Today, because all my other jerseys were dirty, I pulled on my bank cycling jersey. It occurred to me as I was abused on my morning ride, that I was now the most hated road user - a banker, on a bike, on a public road. Think I will keep the bank jersey in the drawer.

The Self Loathing Potential here is inestimable. You do suck. Well done.

I'm putting you in my book.

No - you are #2, right behind the lawyer, on a bike, on a public road.

I was on a ride last year when it dawned on me that I was riding with a lawyer, a cop, and an ex-delinquent. It was weird.

I actually do own a jersey from my old firm. Fortunately, it's not too in-your-face otherwise I wouldn't be here now.

Back in the early '80's all the top triathletes (Allen, Tinley, etc.) were sponsored J. David and Company in La Jolla. Man, I wanted to be on that team so bad. Finally made the "junior" squad (clothes, schwag, no cash) in '84. Got all the good stuff about one month before the Ponzi scheme was exposed. Jail time for all involved, even took the mayor down with it. Riding in La Jolla after that in full J David kit was no picnic. But I had all the "stuff"....

Be honest, you were the delinquent, weren't you?

Me, I have my "I kill puppies for pleasure" jersey. Nobody seems to bother me when I have it on.

They don't allow bikinis, cards, or kites. So I'm guessing Lycra is out too

I got you beat. I'm a lawyer and a state worker. (But I'm not stupid enough to advertise those facts on a jersey....)

I think a big ad for an ambulance chaser lawyer with a large phone number might scare a few into submission.

Not if I make the Lycra super uncomfortable and cover everything except the eyes.. Then it would go over like gangbusters! Plus, it would be funny to watch them drop like flys from heat stroke.

Kites? They don't allow Kites? WTF?

Basically you have just invented the Lycra Burka. Some marketing and you're in business.
