Cycling Models, WTF?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cycling Models, WTF?

I was just looking through a cycling magazine and i noticed something funny. Al of the models in the ads riding bikes, are obviously not cyclists. Their postures are all funny, and many of them look tense and out of their element. Why would companies want to do this, its saying "Ride this bike, its uncomfortable and scary as hell!" Is it really that hard to find real cyclists?

The real cyclists might not be as pretty as the models the ad agencies want to use.

Maybe it's hard to find cyclists that are models. Or models that are cyclists. Sounds like an opportunity for Pcad.

I've had a lot of offers to model. I considered at one point doing artistic nudes for paintings etc, but chose not to. If anyone wants to pay me to model clothed on a bike I'd more than happily take part .

That is what boredom leads to. My friend who was prepping his bike for sale left me to my own devices for 5 minutes. I found his spanky new size large bib shorts and come wandering back out with them on. He needless to say laughed hysterically. He then asked me to promptly change before said person we were going to sell the bike to showed up. Personally I think it would have added some Oompf to the sale, but who am I to know.

Funny, I don't remember the PI ad being quite so anatomically correct in my latest Bicycling magazine.. Maybe it's censored for us kiddies that read it.

When I first saw that PI ad I thought, "There is no way she's a cyclist", and then I looked again. It's not gonna get me to buy anything but I definitely looked.
