Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

LA's TT bike "found"

LA just said in a post-stage 4 interview that he got a call saying his TT bike had been found, but did not elaborate.

Someone is going to remove the decals on those wheels and will be racing/selling them. They probably figured out after stealing it that there was no way they could have that bike anywhere but on a trainer indoors without being noticed.

Obviously it would have been nice if it had been returned whole, but any reason the groupset was not stripped as well?

if some guy came up to me on the street and said, hey man, $500, I'd sprint to the nearest ATM, Take out the $30 i've got in the bank and say, I'll give you 30 for the wheels.

Lots of prototype components, I presume.

On a related note, the bicycle police have the Pcad compound surrounded.

Then you'd ride with them? You're not thinking big enough. Lance would probably turn their return into a photo op and hand you a reward. Even if it's just a Livestrong bracelet and a Mellow Johnny's gift certificate for $50, you take it and smile. You'd then be the "it" story of the week. Next hire an agent and the sky's the limit.
