Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Strange CL bike...

So I found this on Craigslist today, found something a bit funny.

https://orlando.craigslist.org/bik/1051701639.html

"This bike came with all 105 Components...The only thing missing was the crank and front derailer, which I replaced with New Old Stock Campagnolo."

Ermm...I think someone missed a critical flaw? Or am I losing it?

My friend bought a bike from this guy...a few days after purchase the brakes fell off. I'm thinking he has no idea what he's doing...

Shouldn't be a problem, if properly installed.
I hope he didn't just replace the crankset, but the bottom bracket as well.

Wouldn't the Campy front derailleur be incompatable with Shimano shifters?

Works just fine. I have Ultegra shifters with a campy Chorus FD.. used to use campy cranks and changed to Rival compact.. still works fine.

Flawless. This bike came with all 105 Components...The only thing missing was the crank and front derailer, which I replaced with New Old Stock Campagnolo. The right shifter was also missing....I replaced it with a New Sora Flight Deck

All 105 but I replaced parts, and now you get a Sora shifter. Sweet!

*Giggles* So there is 1 105 shifter, and 1 Sora. WTF? That would be quite interesting. I guess you really can test which shifts/brakes better with that set up.
