Nashbar's Fizik Arione Clone saddle?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nashbar's Fizik Arione Clone saddle?

After looking this thing over, it seems to be their attempt at copying the Fizik Arione saddle... They sell it new for $ 49.00

Now, I have the real thing, and it is great for racing but doesn't do it for me on long training rides...

I am looking to get the Fizik Aliante saddle instead which I borrowed from the shop and used for a few rides with great results.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has used this Nashbar clone?

They have a lower priced version which also mimics the arione for $ 14.00

(And here are some pics of the real thing for comparison...)

there are some very good clone products out there. unfortunately i find that most people in today's world are into the blind factor and that is what most manufacturuers count on.

Sometimes the house-brand products from Nashbar, Performance, etc., are actually made by name-brand manufacturers. Performance's Hurricane floor pump, for example, when it came out was the spitting-image of a Serfas pump, now no longer in the Serfas lineup. I had a pair of Supergo MTB shoes which were almost-certainly Duegi shoes but for the brand name on them.

It may be these are not subject to the same levels of quality-control as the products that bear the prestige brand names, or a way for manufacturers to pay off investment in tooling for discontinued models.

They're made by Velo. My wife and I both use them but ours came from Colorado Cyclist and are labeled Douglas. I've also seen them OEM on some Fujis.

We like but I'm not too sure there's any use in asking other people about saddles. FWIW the saddle on the bike I use the most is an old school San Marco Regal. Heavier but my butt can spare the weight.

So far that is the best saddle i have ever used.

My LBS should have one of the Prologo Nago Evo saddles in by this week and I'll get to try it.

They have ONE of them on a display bike (colnago) and it seems to be really comfy & light!

^If this is the same thing then the shape is similar to the Fizik but the padding on the clone is thick and soft, which did bad things for me.

I have this one and it's been good for a 64 mile ride so far (that's the longest ride i've done on it yet).

Other than general appearance/shape, they aren't Arione clones. They're wider (130 vs 139).

The Aliante is wider as well (142 I think? not sure), and a completely different shape (flat vs. curved).

Unfortunately the only way to know what will work is to ride them all.

Unfortunately, and that's one of the bad things about online sellers. I am tempted to try Performance's Forte RS1, an Arione clone, for the $25 they want for it in a current sale...but I'm going to give my current saddle another chance, having gotten some much more comfortable De Marchi bibs. If only the weather would cooperate.
