trainer, or a pro fitting?

if you had the choice what would you buy?

I'm new to road cycling, less than a year, and want to get into racing, and crits, I did my first one and that was an eye opener...

I have been messing with my position slowly and with the help of BF and RBR have definitely had it improved upon.

looked into the Retul fitting system but now I think I may want to hold off and get a trainer first...

I live in sunny south FL and was wondering how good a trainer would be? I would use it for intervals, race warm ups, and during the summer when we have the hellish T-storms...

so if you had the choice Trainer or a fitting?

spend the money on a fit. It will make a huge difference in your comfort and power output. You will still need to pick up a trainer or rollers to warm up before races etc but it can wait. Look for deals on Craigslist or ebay for the trainer if you can't afford a new one. Best of luck and Semper Fi (my brother and dad are Marines)

At this time of year I'd go for the fitting. With DST you can ride after work during the week. If it were winter I'd say trainer.

Get a fit. If it were the beginning of winter, I"d suggest a trainer.

whoever voted trainer please tell me why!

the winters here...well you can ride thru them 100% with temp's rarely getting below 50's:lol:

however in the summer there are horrible thunderstorms (almost daily) that would be stupid to ride in...hail, 50mph winds, torrential down pours...no thanks that is why I was thinking about a trainer...

Maybe you should have mentioned that in the first post. I haven't been to florida since spring break '89 and I was drunk the whole time.

Get the fitting. It will be a lot better in the long run.

A trainer will be nice when the T-storms hit, but like Travkat said, you can pick up a used trainer or rollers on CL.
