What's up with all these Noobies persecuting the Road Cycling Establishment?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What's up with all these Noobies persecuting the Road Cycling Establishment?

I mean, we're all here, minding our own friggin business, insulting and taunting each other, answering each other's bike weenie questions and concerns and flaming the inevitable Fred threads about keeling over in clipless pedals and which $800 bike is the one for me. Then these Noobies come along throwing us all under the bus for not kissing up to them.

What's up with that?

Discuss.

I don't know.

Hey, slightly off topic, how often should I wash my bike shorts?

It's good to know that we can always count on pcad for......well.....something.

Also, what's a good average speed for a 1 hour ride? If it helps, I'm 29 and enjoy long walks on the beach.

Speed depends on bike color. You should start a poll for which bike color we like more. Then you should buy it.

I was just thinking the other day about how much I miss Cypress and that if I posted about "The thighs of Cypress", how many people would know what I was talking about.

If you'd try my Fred sunglasses, you'd see that the noobs are all aliens out to take over BF and cycling in general.

Now that I've learned (BF is nothing if not informative, in a certain sense) that noobs really want to be waved at and offered unsolicited advice, I think I'll keep doing what I've been doing all along.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That latter bit is free advice, for noobs...

I admit, I am sure I fell into that category in the first few months. It was just hard to understand how people so helpful and knowledgeable could so abrasive when answering what is probably a very serious question to the person asking it.

After getting to know the cycling community 2 years better, I understand the responses differently. Let me be the first to apologize for most likely being one of the many subject matter in the OP.

29 isn't bad, but if you can't crack 30 mph, give up the sport.
