For anyone who missed it:
Tell Versus to cut the deal and RCS (owner of the Giro) to make it affordable.
VERSUS: feedback@versus.com
RCS: giroditalia@rcs.it or https://www.rcsdigital.it/it/contatti/home.aspx
The more of us that send them a message, the better chance it'll actually happen!

How do the Cycling.tv packages work? If I purchase the Giro, can I sit down and watch it whenever I want? Or do I have to watch it while it is live? I guess I don't mind paying to watch it if I can watch it on my own schedule.

I have the cycling.tv premium package (PR, Flanders, LBL etc). You can watch any of the races within that package at any time after the race. They break the on-demand streams into "as live" and "highlights." The highlights are extended replays and usually are enough for me.
As far as the Giro goes, you have to purchase a separate package. I think (but don't quote me on this) the MSR is included within this package. They also have a separate Vuelta package.
I've had issues with connections and their technology during races. I wouldn't count on it for watching the races live but its great for on-demand.
Steephill.tv may also have links to live streams of the MSR. They are often country restricted and non-english speaking broadcasts.

MSR will be on Justin.tv .... easily found by Steephill.tv The video they will show will probably be commentated in french but they link an audio stream in english
worked perfectly for P-N and Tirreno-Adriatico Live.. even in the rain.. yes, unlike VS their whole operation didn't shut down
Not sure if you've actually tried to use steephill but they do a pretty damn good job

For those of you who used the English audio stream for P-N and T-A, was your English audio in sync with the Justin.tv video? Or was I the only one stuggling at times trying to reconcile the audio and video? It was if the English announcers were always 5-10 secounds behind the video?

I mean really, cyclists according to the organizers of the Seattle Bike Expo, are a great demographic for marketing: high level of education, alot of disposable income--money to burn and a desire for high end products. Alot of Doctors and Lawyers bought Cervelos because of ads on Versus shown during Cyclism Sundays. Cyclists are a minority, but we punch above our weight.
So come on Vs. show MSR and Giro and I promise to buy something bright, shiny, and carbon from your advertisers with my tax return.

You ended your sentence in a preposition and I'm not sure that the triple question mark passes muster with the Chicago Manual of Style. But then again--It does not really matter this is BF.

Sorry, I thought this was BF where we were allowed to use colloquial English--I'll fire my editor for letting my excessive (twice) use bother some small-minded nitwit who gets all sweaty and upset when he sees a split infinitive. I am getting sloppy though--just this morning I wiped myself and failed to use the tri-fold technique wiping front to back from precisely five o'clock to seven o'clock position of the taint. I know how disappointed you must be. I'm sorry--I will impove.

I'm disappointed that the Giro di Lombardia will not be broadcast on Versus either. That's one of my favorite races, and certainly one of the highlights of the fall.

Send an email to RCS and Versus; tell them to show the Giro.

It's still Micro****, but at least you have an option now.

FYI, cycling.tv is carrying Milan-San Remo. I subscribed last year and just renewed for another year. I have the Gold North American package and for $100 it's worth it to me. I usually can't watch events live anyway but the highlight shows are plenty long. However, you can watch the as-live coverage if you want. Plus I think Anthony and Martin McCrossan, Brian Smith, and Maggie do a nice job commentating. There is an occasional technical glitch from time to time, but since I usually don't watch live, it hasn't detracted much from my viewing.

I noticed this weekend that on Verizon FIOS you can order RAI Italia for $9.99 for the month of May. They have complete Giro coverage, but it's in Italian....
