I noticed this as well, I went to check out what time the MSR would be on VS--apparently never. Then I noticed that the Giro wasn't even on their schedule!!! WTF? No Giro??? I hate to bash VS. they are my only lifeline on cycling, but honestly, why no Giro?? I'm shocked isn't the golden ********* going to ride it this year?
I watched MSR last year for the first time and fell in love with the race. Oh well, I will have to content myself with real american "sports" like bass fishing, bull riding, small-engine repair, pull-tab collecting.
I ain't happy.

Paul Sherwen said that Italy (and I don't mean the country but the organization that owns the broadcast rights to the race) wanted too much money. So Versus isn't covering the races.

I mean really, cyclists according to the organizers of the Seattle Bike Expo, are a great demographic for marketing: high level of education, alot of disposable income--money to burn and a desire for high end products. Alot of Doctors and Lawyers bought Cervelos because of ads on Versus shown during Cyclism Sundays. Cyclists are a minority, but we punch above our weight.
So come on Vs. show MSR and Giro and I promise to buy something bright, shiny, and carbon from your advertisers with my tax return.

Slightly off subject... but did Versus not air the finishes to several stages of the ToC, or is my Tivo ef'd up?
If it's my Tivo, oh well. If it's Versus, what gives?

They would cut the end off, and then 2-4 hours later air an hour long race summery show and the final. It was frustrating. And I had to set it manually to record, I think my dvr thought it was the same thing it recorded earlier in the day.

I love watching the pros as much as the next guy, but I don't have 4 hours / day over 9 days to take it all in.
I set it manually to record as well, and didn't record the "summary shows". I thought they were repeats of the stages, just aired at a later time.
Just air the freakin' finish, and recap at the begining of the next stage. Seems obvious; guess not.

They started off doing that I think, but some stages ran longer then expected, and ended up getting cut off. So I think they decided to do this from day 3 on.

well, your tivo probably cut off when the show ended in the listings, but versus probably stayed with the coverage beyond that if it went long. for sporting events, i always use that "stop 1 hr after scheduled end of event" setting.

haven't looked in a long time, but i bet some of these races that versus isn't showing are covered in part of cycling.tv's subscription packages.
(versus didn't cover tour of mexico did they? i never saw a listing, really wanted to see some of that race. from what i read, it sounded brutal.)

We might be able to make the giro happen if we all let them know we want it and we're paying customers. Tell them both! Versus to cut the deal and RCS (owner of the Giro) to make it affordable.
VERSUS: feedback@versus.com
RCS: giroditalia@rcs.it or https://www.rcsdigital.it/it/contatti/home.aspx
I sent them both a message.

Noted, thank you... I will look into this as an option when I record future events. I was pissed I couldn't see a single finish.

I thought one of the major stations was covering the Giro.. like ABC or NBC sumtin like that.
Justin.Tv definitely rocks for online coverage. add that with English speaking announcers that know wtf they are talking about (unlike those online ToC guys who droned on and on about nothing.. and that one guy's monotone voice was just really bad)

I blew a couple of recordings on my DVR and didn't realize it until I had watched a couple solid hours of coverage and got excited about the ending... oops...

There may be something up between VS and Cycling.TV as Cycling.TV seems to have all of the races and stages except those aired on VS if you purchase their packages for North America. I used Cycling.tv for the past two years and it is a bit buggy on the mac but it was worth it to see all of the mini classics as well as the big races live and on demand. I do miss Paul, Phil, and Bob though.
