Too Good To Pass Up??
Ok so I was at my LBS and they have a 2008 Bianchi 928 SL (Black & Celeste) for sale for $2499 . I think it's a smoking deal. I currently have a 2007 Specialized Allez Elite which I like and would have to sell in order to get the new bike. I didn't test ride it because I was afraid I might buy it on the spot. It's a 55 and I ride a 56. I don't think this will be a problem. What are your thoughts on the bike and the deal.

This is definitely a racing bike and also more of a climbers' frame. It is very sensitive and also very light. You can without a doubt feel the acceleration up a climb or the sensitivity when going hard into a corner. It's a bit twitchy in the wind.
If I had an Allez Elite with a good group (say Dura Ace) already, I would in no way get the Bianchi. I would rather get better wheels.
This is mine:

If you are able to try it out, that is best. I bought my frame used and spend more on the group than the bike lol.

Where did you get this info? https://www.bianchiusa.com/09-bicycle...28-record.html The geometry for the 928SL has not changed from the '08.

I have the 07. It's sloping geometry so you can get away with a bigger bike. I ride a 56 standard geometry but ride a 59 in this model. I like a more relaxed geometry because I don't race and usually go for long rides. If you want more of a racing profile for crits. and stuff, 55-57 is fine. If this is just the frame, that's a lot. If it's with Ultegra or better it's decent.

My Allez Elite has Tiagra 9 speed with a 105 RD and no name brakes. This would definitely be a step up. It's specked with full Dura Ace and Ksyrium SL wheels, exactly what is specked in the link. I am also going to be doing some Road Racing as well as the local Crit series when it gets started. Is this a good deal, or will this kind of bike come up every year at close out?

stole your bike
I would certainly consider it given that it comes with Dura Ace, I would just make sure that it fits first because it won't be much of a deal if you're not comfy.

Great bike. Awesome deal. I'm building up a 928 T-Cube with Red and even with SRAM's grass roots deal, I'm no where near that price. I'd jump on it.
