Is that loop for when your bike tries to buck you off? LOL...(no really, why?)

I have two of them on the Palmares and the Ultimate. Love then, very light and stiff. Those are UCI mass start legal mini aero extensions. I use them on long flat pulls into the wind. They also give you more hand positions so your hands don't get as sore from single position.

those look pretty tight, where would one purchase this/how much?

Looks more like a computer mount, but cool all the same.

The extension is not long enough to be good for TT or Tri, and it doesn't look long enough to be comfortable either.
I'll pass.

ill pass, those look like the bar design on the bikes in my spin class

The Synapse has been around for years...I had one back in '04. Used it for about 6 months and sold it. The extension off the front was interesting, but more of a novelty as opposed to a functional tool.

looks like a good place to attach a winch.

You're right - finally a place to hook the winch so I can hook on the back of the guys that keep running off when I try to wheel suck.

I would like the triangle-shaped extension as another hand position- both hands like 45* from full pronation- but I think that the extension would really need to be angle-adjustable so you can keep your wrists otherwise straight, just as you want your wrists straight when they're on the hoods.

I actually did once see someone riding with his hands like that, I don't know if he had that bar or a clamp-on extension for a different set of bars.

OP, is the reach and drop to your liking?

calves2997 03-22-09 09:37 PM

Reach and drop are fine for my liking. These replaced DEDA Newton aluminum bar and stems. Bought both new on ebay for about half of their MSRP ( 650). The top of the bars is pretty flat and better on my wrists than round bars. I prefer these to the cinelli rams.
This is not a bar for you poseurs, as you can't flip the stem early on in the season!
